LittleBigPlanet 3 is a shallow platform game that has lost its magic and is short of content. A vibrant community and a powerful editor help to keep it afloat.
this one wasnt made by media molecule, a shame really..
I've seen more positive reviews for this than negative. Media Molecule just became an official independent developer. They probably have something cooking right now and had no time to be bothered with another LBP. Edit: @Lemoncake Yes, you are correct. Still though, this is getting some good reviews and looks just like the other two games. @PrinceOfAllSaiyans It's called a mistake. People sometimes make them.
I think you are confusing sumo digital with media molecule? Sumo digital who made this one just went independent.
How the hell did MM become independent when they're owned buy Sony ?
"I've seen more positive reviews for this than negative. " Exactly
*sigh* If Little Big Planet is your thing, then damn the reviews. Buy or at least rent it to see what YOUR opinion is. I won't lambast or call out the reviewer because that is their opinion and score. Whether I agree or not is inconsequential.
Or Share Play it :) A feature I've yet to try out as I'm not subbed to PS+. EDIT @ No_Limit Oh really? That's good to know, I'll have to start bugging my friends if I see them playing a game I want to try. Bubble for you :)
Actually you don't have to subscribe to PSN + to use shareplay. As long as the person you want to shareplay with has a PSN+ account and the game, then he can let you take over the controller on your side online of up to 60 minutes per session. You, as the client don't need to have PSN+.
Quote "short of content" Sorry but excuse me? Did i read that right? Short of content in a Little Big Planet game? Wow now I've read everything! This is a parallel universe right? This can't be the same reality cause that was the dumbest thing I've heard in a review.
"Well said" bubs for you. If I recall, this reminds me of the LBP2 review that claimed the "multiplayer levels were tacked on." Hate is just hate. They will never change.
Haha, that cracked me up. Instantly lost any credibility for this review after that comment.
The campaign/story is significantly shorter than previous LBP games. However, I do agree that saying the content is lacking in general is idiotic. The entire point of LBP is to use your imagination. Its like calling a 4,000 piece box of Legos a lack of content because it isn't a pirate ship.
Maybe they mean new content created for LBP3. If you just cope and paste old assets then you shouldn't be commended for it. I don't own it so I wouldn't really know what's new and what's old.
Yet cod gets high reviews across the board for copy nd paste so i dont get it
Are you guys serious? Have you played the game yourself? Because a game allows you to create your own content does that automatically mean that it doesn't matter if they add their own content or not. I've not played the game so I don't know how much content you actually pay for but I'm not about to claim that it's more than enough seeing though I've never played it & they have.
Seeing that it supports every LBP level ever made from LBP 1&2 as well as every level that WILL be made for LBP3, short of content is a groundless accusation. They could have absolutely zero developer made campaign levels and you still couldnt say short of content, such is the overwhelming amount of content that LBP has already made by its community.
There are 9 million levels preloaded on the disk.....there is a remake of Final Fantasy 7 on the disk...........lack of content? Slayed.
Funny how this game gets a majority of high scores but the fanboys gravitate towards these.
You're here. . .
I'm actually surprised IGN rated it lower than the first LittleBigPlanet game. I have played this one for a few hours and can already tell it's better than the first one. It definitely has plenty of content and the user created levels are awesome. I have never played the second LittleBigPlanet so I don't know how it compares to that one though. So far it's definitely at least an 8 from me. I still have to put way more into it before I can rate it.
Exactly. EXACTLY. It's a better game in almost every regard. It has better features. Tons more better creative tools, Better physics. Better gameplay. More diversity through new characters with brand new gameplay. A better, more powerful engine with more options for create, for play and for sharing. The game is a freakin' charm both conceptually and in terms of gameplay. It's good at worst and fantastic at best, and these reviewers are utterly full of sh*t. IGN couldn't sink lower if they tried.
Well the problem with IGN reviews are that there is no real review system in place anymore. Use to they had a set list of things they rated the game on but now it's up to each random reviewer that works for IGN to just give it a rating that in no way can be compared to other IGN reviewers ratings which means the number they give it is useless.
This game will be enjoyable to me either way. I need a lighthearted game in my life. What is Sumo Digital's standing? They recently made the 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 as well. Are they an independent gun for hire?
Ign Italy. Not the main, San Francisco ign site, so whatever....
American ign gave it 6.8 ,not much better. Seems project spark is wayyyy better
Wayyyy better? Project Spark is a free-to-play game editor with obvious issues, biggest of which are the microtransactions that open up more creative opportunities. So you have to spend more if you want to excel your creativity. This is a really garbage model and the community is weak because of it. LBP3 is a mature, well-developed entry in a mature series, with tons of new features, new gameplay, and with an outstanding community to drive its content going forward. http://www.metacritic.com/g... http://www.metacritic.com/g... LBP3 is no worse than its predecessors in any truly significant way, yet it gets a worse Metascore than both. Seriously, where's the logic in all of that? Plus, LBP3 is way better than Spark.
the logic is bring something new to the table then the same ol nonsense. People get furious when cod is the same every time. Why should games like this excluded? for $59.99?? maybe at $29.99. On a side note, project has been reviewed well and has way more potential that lbp3 the fact you create lbp3 inside of project spark kind of sums it up all for me....and it's free.
Well now... That's interesting!
too harsh :/ the main complaints seem to be game bugs and more of the same apparently. Lol @ reviewers docking points for not being developed by media molecule. MM has already moved on from the franchise, people need to accept it
"Short content", lol! Please, bring someone who knows how to play LittleBigPlanet, like a creative person? The review of the "main" IGN is terrible too, one of the worst i ever read.
I play it for other creative people's content. So the campaigns low score doesn't sway me away from it.
Looks like LBP didnt spend enough money promoting their game on ign
Raise your hand if you know Italian ;)
I dont get when people get defensive over someone opinion or review instead investing all that time into playing the game and ignoring everything else. I guess people just love to get worked up over others opinions.
Ign at it again as usual lol
One day the majority of gamers will wake up and realize that reviews aren't worth anything and we should be trying to get rid of them altogether. All they do is give a bunch of nobody's more influence than they deserve and often times that influence is bought. There is no standard. There is no system. All they are is a bunch of nobody's opinion. Reviews should NEVER be 90% opinion. You'd think after all the reviewers who falsely omit details about bugs for certain games, but completely ignore them when judging another would be enough evidence that REVIEWS NEED TO GO AWAY PERMANENTLY. I have zero interest in lb3, but something is obviously off when a game that's better than its predecessors is scored lowered than they were. Freekin cod constantly getting scores it doesn't deserve, these people are ruining gaming with their bias.....
