Far Cry 4 PC 60fps (or close to) gameplay - Gamersyde

PC gameplay of Far Cry 4 from Gamersyde. It should be noted that the PC used for the gameplay in the video has a Core-i5 4670k CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX 970 GPU, and STILL cannot run the game at a constant 60fps at 1080p, even after lowering a few settings.

Hell yea this will be my next game. Playing this in eyefinity will be a treat.

Army_of_Darkness3861d ago

60fps makes the visuals and gameplay so much better in every way. It's too bad the console versions aren't at this frame rate(or close to it at least)...

decrypt3861d ago (Edited 3861d ago )

@army_of_darkness

So why do you limit yourself by playing on consoles if not having 60fps is so bad.

You pay more to play on console and end up with inferior versions, no point for such a trade off, as is most games are now multiplat.

starchild3861d ago

Cool. I wish I had a setup like that.

Anyway, the game looks amazing. I got it for free with my new GTX 970 and I can't wait to play it soon.

mikeslemonade3860d ago

Wow that's like $500 graphics card and you still can't play it on the max settings. That's bad considering this is barely a 2nd year game in this generation. And people say it cost as much as a console to build a PC..

You have to pay way more to get more than a marginal difference.

Army_of_Darkness3860d ago

@decrypt

I've always been a console gamer since the NES era and that is the only way I enjoy gaming, hassle free, insert game and play on the couch in front of my big screen.
I've tried gaming on pc but don't like it at all even though I know it always had the superior multiplat games...
But still, I prefer my ps4 and playing at 1080p @30fps is still good, just not great and I'm cool with that.

@army

It appears your mind is fixed on the assumption that you may only enjoy gaming on console.

Personally i find switching disks all the time cumbersome, also maintaining Dvds Blurays is a hassle.

I find Services such as Steam very convenient, Click install & play. Its so easy my younger 10 year old brother dropped console gaming when he got Steam.

As for the 30fps, personally i think its a slide show and leaves no room for dips. There is no such thing as 30fps fixed(unless your hardware is powerful and can handle alot more fps typically not the case for consoles to begin with). Always chances to dip into the 20's or worse teens which totally ruins the experience.

With good hardware on the PC when you are gaming at 80-100 fps you dont even notice the dips. Hell my setup can run games previous gen games in eyefinity between 150-200fps, i think its a different experience of smoothness all together. Try playing a fast paced game like TF2 at over 100fps you will understand what i mean.

late but still a good move, oobi

InUrFoxHole44d ago

Seriously, it's great to see devs add things to older games.

OhReginald45d ago

Sony....you're really letting ubisoft out of all all companies to out class you??? Give us the bloondborne 60 fps patch....ffs

dantesparda45d ago

I second this (Bloodborne 60fps) plus damn, Ubisoft, you're doing great but now the last thing I want youi to do is mae Far Cry Primal 60fps and AC Unity

Profchaos45d ago

Everytime someone asks for a bloodborne patch it gets delayed 1 day.

ETA next century

I_am_Batman44d ago

They know it's gonna cost them sales of the inevitable Remake that'll probably come around the PS6 launch.

raWfodog45d ago

Good news for when, or If, I ever play it. It’s waaay down on my backlog list lol.

P_Bomb45d ago

I like these 60fps patches. Hoping they’ll do Ghost Recon Wildlands someday.

Yi-Long45d ago

Kudos to Ubisoft for once again going back to older titles and then offering a nice upgrade for free. I know the company gets a lot of criticism, in quite a few cases understandable and justified, but in this area of contintued post-launch support for their SP games, they deserve some credit.

Ubisoft Removes Nudity in Silent Far Cry 4 Update (New Info: Changes Reverted)

Update: Ubisoft has acknowledged that the Japanese version of the game, which includes regional censorship, was mistakenly released globally. The company says it has reverted these changes in the game's worldwide branch.

Ubisoft has quietly removed nudity from Far Cry 4 in a recent update, sparking speculation about Tencent’s growing influence on the publisher.

You can murder, mame, and viciously attack people, but anything that deals with showing a body in a natural state whether for titillation or narrative, is some truly terrible thing. We are so weird with our puritan thought process. Feed our bloodlust and fuel our enjoyment for entertainment of simulating acts of harm and murder, but god forbid you see digitized TnA. It will never make sense to me.

Rebel_Scum69d ago

tbh even if they did remove it, it doesnt matter. I dont even remember when there was nudity in the game. If it was there it was so inconsequential.

B5R69d ago

Agreed. It absolutely makes no sense

Also, even though Ubisoft reverted the changes that removed nudity, there's the bigger issue of developers being able to make large changes to the game you paid for whenever they want.

Stellar Blade comes to mind. This is why buying physical is the way to go.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

-Foxtrot456d ago

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor456d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

Profchaos456d ago

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius456d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger88456d ago (Edited 456d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.
