A majority of girls I've dated have been gamers. The ones that haven't, you can ask them to try it out for themselves. If you're dating someone, they'll generally just enjoy spending time with you. So, a lot of girls wouldn't mind trying the activity too much if you're there with them helping them out.

GamerTitan3861d ago

Totally agree Snookies12 I've dated a lot of women who both hated gaming & loved it. The relationship never lasted very long if they flat out hated gaming. So I figured I write an post that helped guy's find a girl that would be ok with it.

hay3860d ago

If you're hanging out with anyone who drags anything to the hate levels, you're gonna have a bad time eventually.

Noone's immune to gaming, you just need proper game. If someone hates gaming, give them Flow, Flower or Journey. If gamepad is overwhelming, go with Buzz(dedicated controllers), Tumble(Playstation Move) or High Velocity Bowling(with Sixaxis Controls so easy, beginners will try to throw curves right away). Asura's Wrath is also pretty great "gateway game" in Dragon Ball flavour. Spice it with God of War 3 for the over the top action and you can play with anyone. For the ultimate resistant there's always Gran Turismo 6 with a solid steering wheel. Still looking for a person who tried it and didn't fell in love from the first ride.

mabreu3860d ago

Just find someone who enjoy's everything you do. Spending more quality time with your love one is a guarantee to a long lasting relationship.

My fiance is not a "gamer girl" per se, but she enjoys playing video games with me or watching me play video games. **Except Skyrim, because I play it too much lol.

Pogmathoin3861d ago

Best gift I ever got my g/friend, now wife was the joystick with games built in.... Spent many hours playing, then finding her awake before me, playing Pac Man, quietly..... Its not find a gamer girl, its find the gamer in the girl.... Other than that, its just a fantasy....

Roman3mPiRe863861d ago (Edited 3861d ago )

I'm pretty lucky, my grl (now wife) has always been a gamer girl since Sega Genesis and game boy but wasn't into call of duty but I taught her how to play and she ended up liking it. She couldn't close her eyes to go to bed some times because she says she would see the game lol I told her she was playn too much... anyways she started her own YouTube channel last year and that has been really fun but recently she was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disorder called myasthenia gravis and was unable to play because of it. We came across other people who also had the same thing and were also gamers. She's doing a lot better now and has started playn again. Anyone is more then welcome to check her channel out on YouTube at VetteGeeky and follow her journey on instagram at vettegeeky88 together we are now trying to help other people (gamers or non gamers) with this illness.

torchic3861d ago

can't believe some asshat disliked your post.

great story man and good to hear your wife is doing better!

Roman3mPiRe863861d ago

@torchic thanks bro people need to be aware of this illness. Some people have it but never get diagnosed so they don't even know what's wrong with them. Dislikes or comments don't bother me. Not everyone is going to agree with you no matter the subject.I do appreciate any positive feedback. Always take the positive and dispose of the negative. Its that simple.

jspsc1233861d ago

if you can lay the D nothing matters. my wife hates games. she complains about them but she gets me what ever game i talk about alot

Allsystemgamer3860d ago

My gf isn't a gamer but she'll play with me if I ask. If she doesn't want to then she has her own hobbies. It's a good balance. Dating someone where you do EVERYTHING together gets old. For me anyway. I need someone who is similar enough but has differences. Ify gf always wanted to play games Id have less game time ;-; I already don't have enough

BISHOP-BRASIL3860d ago

Gaming is an easy hobby to live with for a non-gaming girlfriend... Well, maybe not if you're the sofa potato kind and she's a party monster, not so much about the games, but she will eventually get fed up of you wanting to stay home playing videogames as she wants to go out. But still, while gaming you're there, at your home, where she can contact you, knows what you're doing and who you are with, she can even nag at you.

Want to put a relationship into real stress test? Try go fishing. Girls usually hate it, and you may be gone for a week or more on somewhere no phone works if it's a big fishing travel... Now that's a challenge!

Somehow I think that if I had a GF that gamed as much as me, it wouldn't be quite a healthy relationship... Or life.

GamerTitan3861d ago

This is true. At the same time though having a girl that supports your gaming, helps quite a bit in the relationship.

Ch1d0r13861d ago

I'd want a girl who hardly games. I like the fit ladies. The only games id want her to play is Dark and Demons Souls, for the lols.

dreamed3860d ago

If your after fit ladies i hear twitch can get a bit kinky after dark !!!!....lol

StormLegend3861d ago

I wish I had a Gamer Girl.. Dating a regular girl is not my thing.. she likes to party and go out a lot, but I like to stay in and game a lot..

GamerTitan3861d ago

Yeah I agree. I will be writing an article on how to make a "non" gaming girl a "gaming" girl. As I've had to transition a few of them over myself :D

NotAfanBoyy3861d ago (Edited 3861d ago )

Only Ice T has the answer

P.S. I have that Pelican wireless XBOX controller

I'm in the same boat as you. But its my own fault because I need to go out to actually meet a girl. 98% of the time I stranded in my room Playing videos games, watching anime, tv series, movies, or 3d modeling.

Ch1d0r13861d ago

Well i hope you find someone, i started playing basketball and met a lot of people through it. I used to be like that. Even to this day i prefer to workout in my garage than going to the gym. If not ill go for a hike or jog, there always lots of people there. If you start going often youll see the same people and you can make new friends.

N4GDgAPc3861d ago (Edited 3861d ago )

Back in the day basketball use to be my life. I use to be really good. But growing older and not playing that much I'm not even close to how good I was. When I play my mind can be like I use to but my body doesn't move^^ I was really quick before.

Now I'm part of the wounded soldier program for the army. I have Cancer that's considered non-curable. I medically retire Jan 26th 2015. I'll be living off my retirement pay since I got 100% and move back to Nebraska. Continue my treatment and play video games for a living^^

As long as I keep it stable I can live a longer life. I been doing chemo since last Feb and lucky been taking it very well. If you met me you probably wouldn't know I had cancer unless I told you. I've had no systems for the cancer in my liver. So once that fails its probably down hill for me. But if I can keep it stable I can live 2, 5, 10 years or even rest of my life.

But I have a positive additude and hasn't brought me down yet. My Sargent probably thought I was in denial how well I took the news. If so I guess I'm still in denial.

But I think video games help, since I don't work at all even though I'm still in the army. So having nothing to do all day I tend to game a lot.

Don't know why I wrote all this. Guess I'm in a typing mood.

oODEADPOOLOo3861d ago

@Extra sumthin...

Thanks, and good look to you too good sir in providing your future significant other in some extra...value.

maybe a real enemy is people who use terms like "the real enemy"
there can be more than 1 bad thing, t's not like a kids show with 1 big bad

senorfartcushion1d 5h ago

This is very much a “dummy who volunteers themselves to the middle” comment.

The real enemy is a common phrase, people use it all the time.

Calm down.

jambola1d 2h ago

i'm very calm
you seem very upset however

Notellin14h ago

You don't seem calm at all. Don't take this so seriously, you seem desperate responding to others defending your opinion that lacks any value or critical thought.

jambola13h ago

stop projecting
i'm not desperately dong anything, i'm tapping at keys on my keyboard bud

PapaBop13h ago

It's not like kids show with one bad guy? I present to you.. Bobby Kotick

ABizzel111h ago(Edited 11h ago)

DEI was never the problem and it was an ignorant take to begin with.

DEI is why games like Kena Bridge of Spirits, South of Midnight, and Ghost of Tsushima exist.

DEI is why we have a huge resurgence in Japanese, Chineses, and Korean developers producing games like Stellar Blade, Black Myth, and why Nintendo & Sony exist.

DEI is why more and more games have HUGE accessibility options with both Sony and MS fully behind this.

DEI was never a bad thing, the entire purpose of DEI is representation of all people, genders, disabilities, etc…

The problem was people used DEI as a default derogatory term to describe what they believed was forced representation, which allowed colorist, racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobic, and xenophobic fools to run away with the negative DEI narrative.

Executives seem to often have an obsession with perpetual revenue growth. There is always a finite amount of consumers for a product regardless of growth. Additionally, over investment is another serious issue in gaming.

Killer2020UK1d 3h ago

The fact that they also rarely have any real expertise in game development compounds things. They'll look at what's been successful elsewhere, lack the knowledge to properly understand why they have been successful and then force a team to 'reproduce' their badly interpreted idea of that success.

We see it so often with sequels to games that were successful too. The team are left well alone, they have a break through hit and all of sudden the money men descend on the IP and completely railroad the dev team's ideas. Usually winds up being 'make the same game but MORE'

LoveSpuds14h ago

This is true throughout all of the corporate and public sector organisations to be honest. CEO's generally move amongst the corporate world without any need to have experience of a particular industry, they simply need to rely on their senior leadership credentials. A CEO of a retail giant will just as easily transition to a CEO role in the energy sector for example.

Not defending CEOs here to be clear, I think it's a huge part of the reason the western world is so fucked up. CEOs don't need to care about the sector they work in, in fact it's better if they don't care if they want to screw everyone to make profits.

GhostScholar1d 3h ago

Companies don’t hire executives to break even. If the goal is breaking even then why start the company in the first place.

Soy1d 2h ago

That's understood; it's getting record profits and expecting to always beat those record profits, and seeing anything less as a total failure. Then they lay people off and raise prices to reach those record profit levels again, just to sate shareholders. It's setting expectations way too high just to spike share prices, then inevitably falling short. It's feeling entitled to being more successful than everyone else. It's the CEOs doing all this to boost their own bonuses.

ABizzel112h ago

Growth benefits the company’s profits and therefore the company’s stock if publicly traded, which pleases the shareholders making them more and more rich, which is why Growth is always at the forefront of the vast majority of any publicly traded company.

More growth = More Money and the people at the top want all the money they can get. I can’t really blame them anyone would love to see their profits go from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, to multi-millions it’s almost like a gambling addiction.

But it also goes to show someone how morals can go out the window for a lot of these people, and how amazing some CEOs are when they catch this early and provide a balance solution that takes complete care of their employees across the board while keeping the business sustainable IE: Insomniac Games ALWAYS on the best places to work list. The rest of the industry could learn.

jambola2d ago

honestly, the "real" enemy of gaming, is ourselves
if nobody bought horse armor, shitty dlc would have died almost overnight
if we stood firm and nobody bought games from companies that were bad with layoffs, it would be solved
we're the idiots supporting awful business practices, we are the ones enouraging it

TiredGamer1d 8h ago

I think the reality that we don't want to convince ourselves of is that without the rise of "horse armor" and DLC, game budgets would have essentially stagnated (smaller teams/smaller games), or game prices would have risen much more dramatically than they have. There was an incessant drive for bigger worlds, infinite detail, and hundreds of hours of "gameplay" over the last two decades, that while perhaps a natural evolution of things, needed a suitable funding stream to accomplish.

HyperMoused21h ago

What...CEOs make tens of millions and that doesnt include SLT etc etc...we now have multiple editions of games, in game currency, MT's, battle passes.....and what do we get..worse game than what was coming out 20 years ago....dont drink the cool aid, its this nickel and dime crap that is absolutely leading us to gaming destruction.

senorfartcushion1d 5h ago

This is the worst possible answer to this conundrum. Blaming the masses is blaming the only people who are constantly “told” to buy.

Consumers are the only ones not to blame here. People make their own choices all the time. Disney movies are bombing and DEInis being blamed. Has that been enough to put Disney out of business? No and it never will.

Christopher1d 5h ago

Disagree. Businesses are able to do what they do because people are bad consumers and don't think critically about purchases. Disney got away with doing shit stuff for years and it's just the last year where people got tired of it. It's not like it didn't work for 5 years or so for Disney to do the things they've done. They'll just move onto another way to get people to see movies and it will be just as bad but more profitable until people wake up and realize it.

TiredGamer1d 4h ago

Consumerism drives business behavior. It's not so much "blaming" as it is observing behavior. The point I'm making is that the direction that games have gone are driven by the spending. Consumers are spending on DLC and they are driving the expectation of more glitz and padded out (lengthier) games. If they continue to pay, they will continue to drive that direction until a threshold is reached that forces a change in behavior.

senorfartcushion1d 3h ago

Corporate advertising is the most powerful force on the planet.

This is N4G for god sake, every day there are arguments between people who are Team Xbox and Team PlayStation because they’ve been convinced that having an identity built on paying money to Sony and Microsoft matters more than having one as individual gamers who can play whatever they want.

And THEN we get to the corporate advertising part: to play whatever you want is to sink MORE into the advertising pits, making it so that you can more than one specific product.

jambola1d 2h ago

ah you're right
they were told to buy it, it's clearly impossible to avoid that
if enough people stopped supporting, it would stop
disney not stopping would only be because enough people didn't stop

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 1d 2h ago
victorMaje1d 4h ago

Agreed. I’ve been saying for years, announce you won’t be buying the upcoming game because of the practices of the previous game, then you only have to stick to your guns once, see how quickly things change for the better.

We have to unite in what we shouldn’t purchase.

jambola1d 2h ago

just imagine a world, fifa came out worse, nobody buys the next one until they see proof it's better and stick to it
or games being forced online for single player and nobody buys it
things would change so fast

Greed and greedy people have and always will be the main issue for everything wrong in the world. Everything is a product to be exploited for monetary gain. Even when there are things that could help progress us along for the sake of making our lives easier that thing must be exploited for monetary gains. Anything that tells you otherwise is propaganda to make you complicit.

coolfool1d 9h ago

I've never thought "DEI" (although the way most people use it doesn't match it's real definition) is the problem with games. Good games have continued to be good when they have a diverse cast, and likewise, bad games have continued to be bad. There isn't a credible example I've seen where a diverse cast has been the direct cause of a game being bad.

I subscribed to this not knowing about how some of the proceeds go to St. Judes.

Really cool that some of the money goes there.

Even if people don't subscribe to the mag, it might bring people to the charity.

One of the main charities my wife and I donate to. They help a lot of children and being a parent of 5 children I can’t imagine what those parents go through. I’ll probably get a sub to GI because of St Jude and of course because I love video games.
