Johnny writes -"Pool is a pastime that for me came hand in hand with having a few drinks with friends down the local bar, and it has been a long time since I have played a decent simulation of this much loved game. VooFoo Studios and Ripstone Publishers are hoping to change all that with Pure Pool, which has had previous releases on the PS4 and PC, and is now releasing onto Xbox One. Pool simulators must be difficult to develop, thinking about all of the factors that have to be taken into account they must be a nightmare to code. Imagine all of the work that goes into how each ball reacts to being hit by another and then bouncing off a cushion at an angle to bounce into more balls. No matter how you look at it, there are so many factors to take into consideration it’s no wonder they are few and far between. Pure Pool however has not only tried to take all these mathematical nightmares on, but also ups the stakes in the visual department. Starting up a game in Pure Pool is simple, and you will always be brought straight to practice mode when you do, enabling you to warm up before jumping into a match."
Ripstone has announced Pure Pool Pro, the latest entry in its pool simulation series is schedule to arrive later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This new version takes things up a notch with native 8K visuals, refined physics and a fresh take on competitive play with its high-stakes arena.
"Pure Pool by devs VooFoo is probably the most realistic pool game I have ever played. Come and check out the review over on Thumb Culture!" Jas @ Thumb Culture
Greg @ FG: Pure Pool may not revolutionise the sport of hitting balls together, but it does make it enjoyable to play. The Finger Guns review.
