PlayStation 4: Does Greatness Still Await?

GeekParty: "During the PlayStation 4 launch, Sony’s marketing campaign revolved around greatness: great console, great games, and the creation of a perfect day. Sadly, that idea has become more of a dream than reality."

All PR talk I'm afraid, sure there will be some great exclusives in the near future but just as many disappointments, the last year has been indication enough of this, and while next year you've got exclusives which are bound to be well received like Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne, you've also got games that could go either way like The Order: 1886 or Until Dawn.

yep that's how playstations always been, they put out a lot of games some are hits and some are flops. seems to be a winning formula

At least sony is being honest to have you wait and wait and wait ...and wait for greatness. Endurance is key in waiting game.

Still wonder what motto comes next to keep us dreaming.

Driveclub server disaster
rolling PSN blackouts
ridiculous PSnow pricing
failed PSTV dongle
still no DLNA
2.0 update bungle
thumbstick rubber issues
3rd parties dropping share play
PS app is a joke
Delayed games
evolve big alpha blunder

Thankfully my xbox one doesn't have these problems. Hopefully NEXT YEAR my ps4 will finally find that greatness.

Ive always had consoles mostly for JRPGS and Playstation is the best option for me.

Rime, Wild, Abzu, The Tomorrow Children, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Witness, No Man's Sky, Alienation, Hellblade, Uncharted, The Order, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, etc. etc. etc....with more announcements incoming at playstation event in December.. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!

TheJacksonRGN1531d ago

How many more of these posts are we going to get?

To answer your question, for me personally, yes and no. I have seen greatness in the game's I have played so far and I'm also waiting for more greatness to come. Uncharted 4, The Order: 1886, whatever Sony Santa Monica has cooking.

JoGam1531d ago

Because this IS a opinion piece I'll give my two cents. I've been experiencing greatness since launch. My only issue is u still can't video chat. Ive had the cam since day one and haven't used it. Other than that, im happy.

I'm happy with my ps4 too - but there's other problems:
no way of knowing when was last time friends logged notification of when friends do log on.....message system isn't nearly as good as was on support for sony Bluetooth ps3 headsets....I hate the psn store games haven't been that great.
hey, I'm super-excited for next February and all the cool-looking games - and I don't mind waiting for them, but the above issues I mentioned are a real pain. so, I'm hoping some of this stuff will get better in the coming year.

SoapShoes1531d ago

Another one of these bs articles? Why single out the PS4 when they've all had disappointments and a lack if tons of exclusives.

Kribwalker1531d ago

There is no singling out PS4 with these opinion pieces

wodan1531d ago

yeah one negative article about MS vs 20 negative article about SONY prove your point/s

gangsta_red1531d ago (Edited 1531d ago )

Does that mean their are a greater number of "opinions" that think the PS4 is not as great as some here believe?

I mean since supposedly we don't get nearly as many articles about the X1 or WiiU being bad or horrible according to N4G.

Makes you think doesn't it...

Naaaaaaw, the media is biased!! That's the answer everyone wants to hear!

No_Limit1531d ago

It is an opinion chill out and stop being so defensive. Just like most of your anti-ms posts on all those negative xbox articles. It is just opinion, Is it not?

ashen1221531d ago (Edited 1531d ago )

i've had some greatness with my ps4 and i know it will get WAAAY better or um.. greater!!!
