An all star cast from Ubisoft Massive speaks to GamingBolt about their upcoming tactical third person shooter.
I really really really hope this game lives up to expectations. It has the possibility to set a benchmark for future games.
"DirectX 12 brings PC and Xbox development closer, which makes development easier and faster, allowing us to focus more on features. It also lets us work closer to “the metal”, the actual hardware, which means we can PUSH **performance** and **visual quality** even more." But according to N4G experts, DX12 won't make the X1 any better because it's close to the metal already. Bitterness ensues......
I actually trust Spencer over what fanboys say about Direct X.
That statement doesn't look like it means anything for xbone it seems it says the pc will be as easy to work with as the xbone.
What Spencer said was that DX12 isnt going to make the Xbone some super computer that has three Titan cards. Its going to help out the X1 most certainly and we will see visually pleasing games that were thought to be impossible to make on the hardware its on. Think Gears to Gears 3 and Gears Judgement or COD2 to Halo 4. If Ryse was just some game ported over at the last second to be a launch title, I'm sure we will see Xbone games that come close to what Uncharted 4 and The order will bring.
@hercules189 you are completely right, when we did the interview with thats exactly what he was saying. Its makes the hard easier to use and increases the strengths of the console, we'll get better looking games & better frames because its a cpu bound api. It's not a gonna make it twice as powerful but will help the xbox overall in game development. Dx12 will have a good effect on xbox one and a great effect of p.c.
[email protected] If you listen to Phil Spencer all he is doing is setting the record straight for x box fans. People like Misterx and others believe directx12 is going to suddenly make the x box 1 more powerful, thats not going to happen come on. Directx12 is an API its only software not hardware. Every directx release since the beginning has improved graphics of games. So its not a surprise really directx12 will help the devs deliver a better graphical experience! Directx12 main benefit will be with the frame rate, thats why everyone is waiting for it to come out. Its not a resolution fixer, and never will be that.
Spoiler: It won't.
hows this game is going to be a benchmark aint yall tired of hyping and expecting things thats just not there. havent people learned from destiny. one reason i can expect a little from them is because they are mainly pc devs and they should know how rough the competition is on pc when it comes to mmos, since its looks like a limited closed mmo. hopefully ubisoft making them focus on console dont dumb down the dept of this game. would love to see a world of conflict, ground control, or just a new rts from them
Having the possibility to set a benchmark and hyping are different in my opinion. Hyping is saying how great the game already is before it's released. Possibly setting a benchmark means there are qualities being spoken about that could make other developers look at how the new generation of games should be made. I'm mainly looking at depth, story, character development.
Absolutely LOVE dev's going out of there way to provide good AA to games on consoles. The PS3 was a jaggy fest and I'm glad people are making steps to correct that.
"Rashid Sayed: The game is already confirmed to be running at 1080p and 30fps on both the PS4 and Xbox One. Were you guys at any time pushing for 60fps? And was there a specific reason why you settled for 30 in the end?". Confirmed? When was the resolution confirmed? Never heard a confirmation.
Now you did;-)
Well if this is true than I can see a certain group already crying parity and why one version isn't running at 60fps
DX12 will bring Xbox One even closer to parity with PS4.
I think this is why it was pushed back. MS wants this game to be what Destiny was to PS4
But hopefully better
@mrmagoo123 Oh realy? They are the actual devs not the buisiness men
I know that the PC version of the Division will be optimize differently from the console version. But didn't UBI say that the same thing would happen to the consoles version, each console get their own optimization. Now that I read that both x1/ps4 version of the division will run at 1080p/30fps makes me feel like UBI used parity for the console version. The PS4 should be more than capable to run somewhere in the 40fps since the x1 can do 30fps. http://www.vg247.com/2014/1... @disagree Disagree all you want DX12 isn't going to turn the x1 in to a wonder machine. The ps4 is more powerful and it always will be more powerful for the entire lifespan of the consoles.
Dude, really?? Parity over 10fps?? Just give it up already...NEWSFLASH...the PS4 ain't as powerful as you think!
First of all, I said somewhere in the 40fps so it not an actual number. So you can stop taking what I said literally. I've provided the link so read it. my point is, the ps4 should get the same treatment the PC is getting because the ps4 hardware is more powerful the x1 no matter how you spin it.
Considering pretty much all the games that have parity are Ubisoft games...
@MasterCornholio I trust what an actual dev says over what Phil Spencer says. These are the DEVS words, not some fanboy, and it relates to the PC AND the X1: DirectX 12 brings PC and Xbox development closer, which makes development easier and faster, allowing us to focus more on features. It also lets us work closer to “the metal”, the actual hardware, which means we can PUSH **performance** and **visual quality** even more." You can spin it all you wish, it won't change a thing.
Can't wait for this game wish we could play people cross platform. Oh by the way I know that will never happen so save your breath.
Good point. Now that a good reason to make x1/ps4 run at the same res/fps. It would certainly give both side platform equal game play. Perhaps that could be the reason why UBI canceled steam. putting everyone on their UPLAY server would make cross play possible, mmmmmm.
