Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX Preview | GodisaGeek

James Bowden: "It’s in the game’s recurring stain glass motifs that the effect of the HD scrub feels most prominent. While the visual components of the HD Kingdom Hearts games are left largely untouched – most evident in larger foes and vistas, the polygon count just isn’t there – there are many visual elements that look stunning simply thanks to the higher resolution, with the series staple stain glass being the biggest example of this. Glimpsing one of these is enough to make you say ‘ok, that’s why’. For a nine year old game, Kingdom Hearts 2 can look surprisingly contemporary."

Chain of Memories and 358/2 have a lot of important stuff that lead into KH2. Otherwise you'll be Really lost at beginning of 2. You can easily find a videos of all the cutscenes of both games so you dont have to play through them all the way.

Wouldn't actually say Chains is necessary before going into 2 since you know just as much as Sora. While I do like a lot from 358/2, aside from a few things it's mostly world/character building Days came out after 2 anyway and would take a lot of mystery away. Maybe I'm just trying to simulate how I experienced the story but in that case I actually started playing 2 first lol. Cutscenes should be sufficient for sure.

I'd through 0.2 in there as well just cause it's so short and has a decent amount of information. What the hell did Mickey mean?

How seven mysteries help games develop worlds

There are certain recurring themes people can expect from video games intended to build ambiance, especially in RPGs. No sooner do you enter a new area or attend a new academy, then someone lets slip there are seven unsolved mysteries to discover. Inevitably, the main story or an extended series of sidequests sends you looking after each one. However, people may not realize exactly how extensive this story element is and why it is such a valuable inclusion in games.
