Has The Wii U Version Made the 3DS Version of Smash Obsolete?

CCC Says: "Let’s ask a serious question right now. What use is the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. now that the Wii U version is coming out in a few weeks? No, seriously. I know a lot of you are rolling your eyes and thinking that I’m just another person complaining about how popular Smash is, but bear with me here. What use does the 3DS version have once the Wii U version comes out?

The Wii U version excels over the 3DS version in every way, whether you are a casual or professional player. It has more modes, more stages, a better control scheme in the Gamecube controller, it supports more players, has more co-op modes, and more."

There is room for both. you may find there are times when you want to get your smash on but you dont want to sit there at the wii-u. playing the game on the 3ds give you that opportunity to play wherever you may be (provided you brought your 3ds/game with you).

just because there is a console version and a portable version does not mean they negate each other. They only serve to compliment each other.

hell, i play mario and sonic transformed on the PS3 at home, but then when i want to kick back at work...i play it on the vita. Great game either way.

Back on topic: "What use does the 3DS version have once the Wii U version comes out?"......the answer is simple. convenience.

I'll probably sell my 3DS copy shortly after the Wii U version comes out. Want to get Mewtwo first :D

Seriously they should of just focused their full time on the Wii U version then a year later make an awesome handheld game taking feedback from the console version.

Smash Bros goodness two years in a row.

Seeing as the 3DS version is now at 3.5 million, it seems to not matter. I personally see the 3DS version an appetizer to the main course that is the Wii U version.

Not everyone owns a Wii U so no. Also Japan, 3DS is huge so that too.

The novelty of having one of the greatest fighting games ever created on a hand-held is reason enough to say it's not obsolete.
Even after the Wii U version comes out, I'm never selling the 3DS version.
Road trips and bus trips are more bearable with Smash on hand.
