OpenDCS to make tackling video game piracy easier

Video game piracy has been an always increasing risk to the industry, especially to indie developers, with a recent study finding that there were five million cases of games being downloaded illegally off websites such as Pirate Bay and Kickass Torrents in just three months. Many game developers also took part in the study, with nearly 60% of them stating that online piracy has had a negative effect on their profit margin and overall business. The most recent case of this being SI Games’ recent strategy Football Manager, with the android version being pirated ten times for every legal sale. DiCopSys, one of the UK’s leading anti-piracy specialists, however are planning to change this with their whole new and free service, OpenDCS.
