I actually really enjoyed the evil within's story more than I thought I would and the characters were..well not great but none of them got on my nerves or anything. Perfect one to pick up for halloween I'd say.

It's kinda scary but it's the sound and atmosphere that make the game. Not sure about the story yet, but it's a mind f^@# so it is what it is.

I actually really like the pacing, exploration and save structure. I love games that put u in situations in which u can choose to restart and perfect ot, or move on. I always play so patient and cautious at the beginning of these games to make sure I play it as perfectly as possible.

This game as a whole is quite refreshing. Some say there's too much gunplay but I will bet on much higher difficulties, it's all about strategy and survival.

It's absolutely not scary, as well as it has some of the worst writing I've ever had a chance to witness in a video game. It's an absurd that some people earn money for making such terrible scenarios - even I could do better, for free!

eh, it's a demo. Maybe if this list was made before Alien and Evil Within hit shelves it would make the PS4 list because of slim pickings but a man would be hesitant to put it next to full retail listings with hours more of gameplay. A man is sure the final game will be great though and will make many a horror game list!

Silent Hill 2 is easily the best on the list, IMO.

Some people would argue that The Last of Us is the best, but it lacked that eerie, dark psychological horror and the feeling of isolation that Silent Hill 2 had.

The Last of Us is still a good horror game, but, to me, Silent Hill 2 (and Silent Hill 3) does horror better.

Also, Silent Hill 2 had some completely messed up scenes. Like that scene where Pyramid Head is raping a mannequin. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I saw that. It was a huge shock to me.

1.Is Dead Space worth a buy for $5.31?I've seen some gameplay footage lately and the game looks a lot like Dead Space 2 but I've heard that it's scarier
2.Are Fatal Frame 2 & Siren still scary today?I haven't played both sadly

1.I still haven't opened my dead space 2 to play it, but the first is an awesome game! Worth $5.31 for sure. You wisen up to most of the monsters tricks a few hours in though unfortunately which would be my only real complaint, and a minor one at that.
2. Hell yeah they'll still get the blood pumpin

I agree that the 1st dead space was scary. It was the 1st time in that creepy world and we hadn't seen much like it before.

I obviously agree with Silent hill, but maybe it was me, did anyone think Alan Wake was kinda scary. Few games scare me, and it wasn't that bad, bit I remember the entire vibe being quite eerie.

Well I got Dead Space 1 and 2 as day one preorders. So I'd definitely say both are worth $60 to be honest. In fact, I own every Dead Space and DLC so I think I'll start on them since it's Halloween.

1. Dead Space 1 is worth a buy.

2. Big YES. Both games still scary for today standard. I suggest to pick them up if you really love pure survival horror games.

My friends little brother used to be so scared of medievil cause he had medievil related nightmares haha. It definitely has an awesome, creepy atmosphere so I'll agree with you on that one mate.

How the hell you call this list "20 playstation horror games of all times" without including Siren????

Seriously, replace Cold Fear (i finished it years ago and it's not good), Dead Island, and Dead Space 2 with Siren, Clock Tower 3, and The Thing.

Also, i think Onimusha 1, Rule of Rose, Kuon, and Parasite Eve deserved a spot in that list.

I enjoyed Cold Fear, except it was a little buggy and I couldn't defeat the final boss.

I also enjoyed Cold Fear but for early chapter. The storm really gave some uncertainty atmosphere to players. There also no maps that forced us to memorize all route we have been through.

But after that the story & gameplay gone downhill because it trying so hard to be RE and sadly it failed, for me anyway.

Bad list overall. 3 RE games for ps1 and no silent hill = flame bait
