Tin Salamunic: The gaming industry suffered a big loss with 3D Realm's unofficial closing in 2009. Seeing such a prestigious company fade due to a pesky lawsuit and lack of funding was tragic. But a developer responsible for defining 3D gaming doesn’t go down so easily. Nearly five years later, the team makes an epic comeback by offering gamers a 32-game collection of their greatest achievements for only $39.99. 3D Realms Anthology is a glorious reminder of just how much the developer contributed to the gaming world.
Bundle Stars has today unleashed the world’s biggest mixed bundle of digital games, all of which appear in this format for the first time.
It's worth it for Monstrum alone. My oldest son played it once and bought it immediately. His younger brothers have been having a blast just watching him play it.
That looks like a great deal. I don't even play games on my computer, but I may pick this up. Maybe eventually, we'll be able to stream steam games to my xbox one and then I'll be set.
Today on Gaming With Killatia your host. Killatia, takes a look at the Steam Version of 3D Realms anthology, a collection of the company’s entire library of games ready to be played! How many games? How about 32 games!
Tom writes:
"This collection should really only be acquired by nostalgic gamers or those who want to live through what is fundamentally the genesis of Duke Nukem. Even genre companion Shadow Warrior can’t even try to live up to this grandmaster, but luckily, the 2014 remake more than makes up for its slashing goriness."
I loved all these game collections by Sega,Capcom, Activision and Midway on the Playstation and sometimes the PC too and like that there is another now with over 30 classic games including the great Commander Keen ones.
In my take on a "perfect" future, just all classic video games would be avasilable in one or another form to current systems and easily playable without having to use emulators etc.
