lol, the game itself is only 5.1GB.

bleedsoe9mm3901d ago

patches are becoming so big and so frequent these consoles are becoming stealth digital machines

Eonjay3901d ago

Agreed. I would like to see more developers aim to create finished products. I want more QA before release and I don't want to have to go online for stuff that should be in the main game. I am worried that there will be no legacy support for our games in the future and that a lot of the games today will simply be unplayable.

Army_of_Darkness3901d ago

So I would basically be completely screwed if I had No online connectivity.....

starchild3901d ago

@Eonjay

That's a good point.

bleedsoe9mm3901d ago (Edited 3901d ago )

@Eonjay when your talking about a 5gb patch for a 5gb game there is no way this is a offline machine for this game . they've taken backward ccompatibility from us and sold it back to us , next they take the ability to conintue using the old console away from us . working copyies only playable on their service .

why has become a trend to release day one huge patches on new gen games ...are so buggy ? because is creating a lot of suspicions ...where is the optional offline gaming which was promoted??

Palitera3900d ago

This company is pure trash. That's why.

I still have hopes for this game (might be their first good game), but I wouldn't bet on it.

vishmarx3901d ago

only 5.1 gb?
which means its the entire game... eh.
and its 15hrs long.

this is gonna turn out to be a disappoinment mark my words

NovusTerminus3901d ago (Edited 3901d ago )

They said 15 hours for the main story, it's close to 50 for all the side stuff.

I don't agree with the patch, but there is no reason to flip out over it just yet.

Sniper Elite 3 had a 10gb patch on the X1, which replaced some of the base install. So it might not eat any or much more HDD space.

Dead Rising 3 had a 13gb patch.

Father__Merrin3901d ago

the game can be played for longer its kinda like dark souls semi open world

mikeslemonade3901d ago

So this, the relatively small development team, no known track record, and early videos.. All point to a dissapointing game.

I'm still likely to buy it and trade it in once I'm done playing like usual. I'm known to play all hack/slash games anyway.

morganfell3901d ago

mikeslemonade,

You should try the internet. You might be surprised what you will learn. Tomasz Gop is not some unproven developer.

Manic20143901d ago (Edited 3901d ago )

Suck's that most games on current gen consoles require day one patch. Looking forward to this game.

Prototype_79L3901d ago

Just for your information, it is a loophole in the system, because game developers have to pay for the data people download. So it is a standard procedure, a 5 gig game with a 5 gig patch and everything above this is downloaded from whithin the game itself, from the Developers servers. I recently downloaded digital versions of Wolfenstein, BF4 premium, and Shadow of mordor , and all of them followed this scheme.

TL:DR
The games are all right, they dont need patch, it is a workaround to lower developer fees.

Sharius3901d ago

holys***!!!

it's actually a whole new game

luckily PS4 have play while download feature so i can go right to the story mode while the rest of game will be download at background

MasterCornholio3901d ago

And the game is 5GBs?

That's crazy......

The original "Lords of the Fallen" IMHO is quite a good Souls/Borne game although there are differences.

Basically unlike Souls/Borne games you have only one character (his name is Harkyn) with three differnt classes that in turn can be mixed with different attributes. In addition (unlike Souls/Borne) if you die you have a time limit to pick up your lost experience (there are rare items that can get back your experience immediately) otherwise you will loose it.

There is also a risk/reward system (see the Wikipedia for more details).

Overall the original game had mixed reviews (again see Wiki).

I think this game suffered from the hardware limitations at the time eg unstable FPS but still it was it was a joy to play and explore all locations when you gave it a chance. It was a fun platinum to get.
