Refurb Wii U SOLD OUT via Nintendo Online Store

N247: Following today’s Super Smash Bros. Wii U Nintendo direct, the Nintendo online store quickly sold out of the $200 refurbished Wii Us. It comes as no surprise, as this was the cheapest way to get a Wii U that included a 1 year manufacture warranty at the time.

Damn. I'm glad that people are finally going out and buying these. Definitely underrated system

Games sell consoles, and games packed full of awesome content have the potential to sell a ton of consoles.

mikeslemonade3886d ago

Hehe I was one of the people that bought it here. The system came in with all the original packaging, smelled new, no scratches, still wrapped, and no finger prints.

Gazondaily3886d ago

For you lot in the UK, check out the deal below. I bought my console from here too.

I see a lot of momentum picking up for the Wii U now. I'm not surprised these sold out.

This game has so much content it's going to be hard to get through. I played Brawl for years after it released, but I might be playing this one forever. :O

i was gonna get one but the word refurbished is just a red flag to me

wonderfulmonkeyman3886d ago

How many did they actually have in stock?
Does anyone know?

animegamingnerd3886d ago

we're never told how much they have in stock of these but i am pretty sure this is the first time they have sold out

mixelon3886d ago

Haha yeah they could've had 10 for all we know. XD

Similarly - Every time a new Mac comes out there's a rush on the old refurb models and they temporarily sell out. It doesn't mean much.

On the other hand im really glad people are buying WiiUs at all, it's a great system.

animegamingnerd3886d ago

that Smash Direct and hopefully Bayonetta 2's review scores are responsible for this i bet

NBT913886d ago (Edited 3886d ago )

The Smash direct definitely made me glad to have already owned one.
Going out to buy Bayonetta 2 in a bit after my coffee :D

Would those two things be enough for me to buy a Wii U if I didn't have one? Possibly not but then you start to think of all the other games for Wii U that are already out and still to come. As well as the cheap(ish) price of the console, backwards compatability... Yeah I'd probably buy one now if I didn't have one yet.

mcstorm3886d ago

I agree the wiiu is the under rated console of this gen. I have too many games for it to get through at the moment and not enough time to play them too.

This year alone the WiiU having DK, Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros is a reason to pickup a WiiU as well as MarioU, Mario 3D world, Zelda Windwaker, Pikmin 3 and more.

Blackleg-sanji3886d ago

Damn that smash direct must have did its job

NBT913886d ago

It was brilliant to be fair. Dem eight player brawls tho?!

Blackleg-sanji3886d ago

Ooo man nd those modes man i can't freaking wait

wonderfulmonkeyman3886d ago

I'm taking that mode out in public, bro.
I'm gonna advertise a weekend visit to my local Starbucks, set up Smash on a portable TV, and tell people to bring their own controllers.

Imagine the turn-out, man: Tons of gamers getting hopped up on double-shot cappuchinos while beating the crap out of each other on Smash.

It's going to be INSANE...

Basically you get a new console , scratch free. Just different box

XBLA Classic 'A World of Keflings' Is Coming to Steam, and There's a Demo

"Back in the innocent days of 2010, A World of Keflings was a fairly popular successor to A Kingdom for Keflings. I even wrote about it a few times in 2012! But the world of humans moved on, and NinjaBee's city-building/adventure game was last seen on the ill-fated Wii U in 2014. Fast-forward to the dark year of 2025, and not only is A World of Keflings coming to Steam, but there's already a playable demo! Perhaps the cheerful, no pressure gameplay that the Keflings bring is just what we need nowadays," says Co-Optimus.
