360-gamer been lucky over the last few years to be treated to a number of excellent tennis franchises, with Virtua Tennis and Smash Court serving up excellent representations of the game. However, the Top Spin series has held a special place in their hearts since it made it's way onto the 360 with Top Spin 2. Looking back two full years, they have fond memories of its arcade style, bringing to the 'next-gen' a polished version of the sort of straightforward, beginner-friendly tennis games 360-gamer have all grown to love. So 360-gamer came to Top Spin 3 expecting a shinier version of the same type of play. How wrong they were. This is an evolution of the whole tennis genre.

Virtua Tennis 3 has been one of my favorite PSP games, and I could not wait to see what the 2009 Xbox 360 version of the game brought to the table. After playing the game, I was very disappointed in Virtua Tennis 2009; not because it was a bad game per say, but because it wasn't anything new from the previous release."
