Spreading its Ink Too Thin – Ballpoint Universe Review | Nintendo Enthusiast

If there’s one thing for sure that can be said about Ballpoint Universe is that it’s a weird game. Never mind that all the art are doodles created from a ballpoint pen, but the game just starts you off in a strange world with no indication of what to do. It takes a while to process everything Ballpoint Universe throws at you and make sense of it. When you finally do, you realize the game tries to be part shoot’em up and part platformer but doesn’t really hit the mark that well in either case.

Review: Ballpoint Universe: Infinite (Wii U eShop) | 8 Bit Forward

Looks a lot better on Paper

Ballpoint Universe: Infinite is one of the most unique games to hit the Wii U eShop yet, most noticeably in its hand drawn, completely inked art style which sets it apart from every other title on the digital platform. Another rather unique feature of the game is the slightly odd combination of Platforming and Side-Scrolling Shooting, though the penmanship on the gameplay isn't nearly as remarkable as the animated artwork itself.

I really like the look as it does remind me of the stupid things I use to doodle in my folders during high school and college but I'm not sold on the game play......seems a little clunky based on the trailer. I will wait and see what the reviews look like before making a purchase decision.

Ballpoint Universe Final Testing / Temporus Adds Nintendo Goals / Stealth Inc 2 Submission In August

In today’s Indie Corner: Daily Dose we find out that the seemingly endless delay to Ballpoint Universe: Infinite for Wii U is about to come to an end as the game reaches final testing. We also get updates about CW-Game’s Chimpuzzle Pro which is due in Europe towards the end of July, and Curve Studio’s Wii U exclusive Sealth Inc 2 should also be submitted for lotcheck during August. A new trailer is released for Shut the Box from RCMADIAX and Temporus’s Nintendo stretch goal is revealed.
