Anyone know if the first 3 games are still worth playing?I see their on sale for $5 each on psn.I never got around to trying them before, but sometimes horror games don't hold up over the year's.

Feriku3471d ago

I've heard they're fantastic, and I plan to try the first one soon!

kowan3471d ago

Yes, Y E S, and yes. I emphasized on the second yes since the second fatal frame may as well be the best or one of the best horror games you will ever play.

havent got a chance to play the first but i do say 2 and 3 is worth it (really good. give me a spook back then)

Spenok3471d ago

They are simply the best horror games available. They also aged quite well too. I'd say get them. $15 for all three is a steal.

Hoffmann3471d ago

They are great games and still fun today.

I'll be honest here: The games are fantastic, but -probably- you'll feel the controls a bit outdated. Not like Resident Evil, but poor characters move so slow at times that you'll end up by wishing that there were a super turbo button, and maybe, just maybe, you'll end up by hating japanese classic dolls. They're a blast if you can overcome that, and when it's over you can just give the controller to you GF and have a good time hearing her scream.

I damn near crapped myself with Fatal frame number 1 many years ago. Don't know if I'd have the balls to return. Those costumes maybe be enough to swing me though.....

Hoffmann3471d ago

Looks like FF5 stays in Japan(ese) anyway =/

I was excited about the WiiU controller being the camera. Now that I know the controller also functions as a map, I just wet my pants.

I mean that was sort of obvious.
There was literally nothing on this franchise, then they ported Maiden of Black Water likely because it was the easier one to translate to modern devices being a Wii U title and all. And now we are getting a remaster of the 4th title. So it stands to reason that Maiden of Black Water was successful enough to start the whole process.

A remaster of the Fatal Frame 2 remake that was on Wii would be very welcome as well. That game is great. Scared the crap out of me the first time I played it as well lol.
