UK internet trolls could soon face serious jail time

People who send online abuse over the internet could soon face stiff penalties.

UK Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has unveiled plans to increase the maximum sentence for those who harass others online from the current maximum of 6 months, to a new maximum of 2 years.

The plans come amid growing concern about how people conduct themselves and treat others over the internet, as occurrences of death threats, bullying and other antisocial behaviour become increasingly common.
