PS3 BluRay dumped; resembles PSP file

Tonight CJPC had some freetime and decided to install Linux Fedora Core 5 (PPC iSO) along with PS3 Other OS Installer and the kboot from the CELL-Linux-CL_20061110-ADDON.iso file. Once installed, he logged into the shell and dumped the Extended OS Area (which resulted in 4.0 MB (4,194,304 bytes) by using: dd if=/dev/sdb of=/extendedos.img

The story is too old to be commented.

Wow! That was quick. They can already create and run ISOs of PS3 games?

It does make you wonder if Sony wants to you play copied games etc sounds like it is going to be very easy to mod the system.

I stand by the fact that they only won the PS One generation as everyone had it chipped.

Do you have any Idea how many PSP Sony sold just because people can run homebrew? If the PS3 can do the same while Sony pretends to be fighting it, they would make lots money.

Totally agree,

It was already hacked when it was released in the UK just like the PS3 will be by the look of things.

Creating and been able too run them is a different story.

Someone created an application to run them in just about a month after the first iSO on the PS3. I don't think that this is going to be much different.

Whoops, I meant to say PSP
