Amazon customers have voted the PlayStation 2 as the best console of all time. The Polling took place from August 18 to October 5. The PS2 beat the Wii U in the first round, the PS3 in the second round, the Nintendo 64 in the semifinals and the PSOne in the finals.
The PlayStation 4 lost to the PSOne in the second round. However, it did receive more votes than all Sega consoles combined. The PC was just nine votes shy of making it into the knock-out stages. The Atari 2600 was the oldest console to make it to the knock-out round.
The PlayStation 2 is also the bestselling console of all time with 157.68 million units sold during its lifetime. That is ahead of the DS and original Game Boy, which sold 154.88 million and 118.69 million units, respectively. The PSOne is the second bestselling console with 104.25 million units sold.

They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.

I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.

PS2 had something for everyone from shooters to platformers.
Very well deserved for me along with PS1 and sega genesis in my opinion.
I hope the ps4 can replicate those greats it has the potential though
