Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix sold around 70% of what 1.5 Remix did at launch, but theoretically, it should have done better.

youd think people get bored of playing the same game over and over and actually expect a new game now.

Each new title plays differently then the last introducing new combat mechanics worlds, enemies and bosses. Not to mention different stories. You'll appreciate how much the characters have gone through and the ultimate closure in III will be far more satisfying. No it's not the same each time. A comment from someone who hasn't even touched the series before. I've heard people complain about CoD being the same every year but Kingdom hearts... really? Last new entry came out in 2012. Come on now your just scraping the bottom of the nitpicking barrel.

lashes2ashes1880d ago

He is talking about the fact it's a re release as being a possibility for bad sales. Not sure what you're rant has to do with his comment.

So KH2 was released a long time ago. I've been itching to play it again. Don't understand how it's boring to relive the past. Especially since it's the unreleased Final Mix version that is getting it's first re release stateside.

Slade231880d ago (Edited 1880d ago )

You can relive the past on a playstation 2 while playing KH1 and KH2. Plus of course it will do better in America than Japan because Japan already had the final mix features before.

So why play the same game all over again with no new features. The only difference is HD and different system, which not going to make much of a difference.

I would love to play this entire series...

I'm NOT buying a PS3 just to do so though.

* KH 1.5 remix & KH 2.5 remix should be on PS4, Wii U & XB1.

THAT would help this game sell.....well in North America at least.

DEATHxTHExKIDx1880d ago

KH1.5 sold over a mil worldwide I'd say thats pretty solid for a HD remake.

Nodoze1880d ago

Perhaps the 3.5 super remix with added color and DLC will sell more.

People wanted KH3 for years now and SE give us nothing but spin offs and Re-Mastered spin offs.

GenericNameHere1880d ago

Spin offs refer to a game in a series that isn't canon or tied to main games at all. All the games released so far have been canon, even the Japan only browser game Kingdom Hearts X (chi).

As for why it didn't sell so well, Smash 4 3DS came out two weeks before, and Monster Hunter 4G and the New 3DS/LL came out two weeks later. I think people saved their money for these, Japanese players are sick of KH, or it's just the typical console market not doing so well there anymore.

Scrafty3691880d ago (Edited 1880d ago )

No, according to Nomura, Birth by Sleep and 3D are not spin-offs. BBS is essentially Kingdom Hearts 0.

DEATHxTHExKIDx1880d ago

BBS, KH3D, and to an extent 358/2days are all necessary.

WeAreLegion1880d ago

Strange. I thought with Birth By Sleep being packed in, it would have been a massive hit.

Elda1880d ago

Possibly people there are over playing remasters & spin-offs of the same game knowing people already played them before on the original platforms years ago.People that are fans of KH are just ready to play the 3rd installment when released.
