The Evil Within review | MMGN

MMGN: The Evil Within is everything that has been missing from survival horror games of late. It’s a creepy game that introduces us to a new franchise built upon the best of Mikami. The modernised take on Resident Evil 4 controls and resource management are joined by the spooky mansion and chainsaw wielding maniac, all of Shinji fans’ favourite things, as well as an entirely new concept that will have you just as baffled as Sebastian. The story isn't as strong as it could have been, and there are too many visual blunders, but the well balanced gameplay and unrelenting atmosphere make The Evil Within one of the best survival horror games in years for just that: stingy survival and creepy horror.
