Xbox One’s Friend List Finally Fixed by Microsoft After 24 Hours

Over the past 24 hours Xbox One units all over the world were affected by a widespread outage that caused the friend list not to be displayed and all related features to be unavailable.

At last Microsoft managed to solve the issue, and Xbox One users can play with their friends again.

The issue was fixed for ALL (or very close to all) but the preview members after about 20 minutes. For those that were preview members (myself included) the friends list worked fine most of the time you just had to snap friends or fully open it. Not to mention that is the point of the preview program, to test software, it says specifically that things like this may happen. For me I find it worth it as I get all the great features early.

3 articles from one site about one very minor issue is a bit much, not to mention how inconsistently they cover these types of issues. Haven't seen a single mention of other more severe online game service problems on their site.

I didn't have any problem myself, been playing FH2 with friends didn't even know there were issues. Obviously anything that has online connectivity is going to have errors here and there but I haven't seen or heard of any severe service problems affecting most of XBL in a long time.

I guess dualshockers is going to do a story for every minor XBL error if theres one at all, I'll be sure check them first when there are significant problems where users should be legitimately concerned, like say unable to play online or recurring annoyances that don't get fixed in a timely manner?

It's obviously not invincible like people want to pretend that it is.
In this world, there's no such thing as invincible.
It's weird that it would have friend issues on the Xbox One given how little people there is. Kinda like when it went down during during the week that the PS4 had the Destiny Alpha.
We would expect PSN to receive high demands, but Xbox Gold Live?

Oddly enough my friends list wouldn't load on my console, but it would via smartglass. Others I spoke to were unable to load their friends on either. Either way, I'm glad it's fixed. :)

on top of that I've owned every ms and ps system besides ps4 so you fanboys come find me i have a day 1 x1 and can tell you that the snap friends feature has just been implemented AFTER my comment...u boys must check the time so @software_lover 4days ago before the update the friends app was not a snappable app

It was weird not playing with people for 2 nights but at least it's fixed.

I was affected. It was weird.

Its working now. I did notice my controller acting up...the D-Pad not working all the time in the home menu and also in some games the L3 analog acticing wonky.

Im wondering if its the update (preview) I just got or is the controller itself to blame.

A sensationalized attempt at making a minor issue look overblown on X1 to take the attention off of PSN. Sorry, not trolling, just telling the obvious truth. MS servers are better than Sony's, just like the PS4 has a little more power. Accept the truth, get over it and move along.
