IGN - NBA 2K15 Review

NBA 2K15 feels like a new-gen experience that 2K isn’t quite ready for. It’s an absolutely beautiful game to look at, and its controls are as tight as they’ve ever been. Some features are vastly improved from last year, and fortunately most of those continue to work when the servers don’t. It’s a shame that the best game modes won’t always be accessible, because this could’ve been an amazing basketball game. It still could be, if 2K can fix it. But if you buy it right now, you can expect a great offline experience.

Really, why please explain? I would imagine in the first weeks or at the very least the first month 2k will fix the servers. Besides that what's wrong with it? Cause I've thought 2k basketball games have been really top notch for like the last 5 years or so. Sports games are like some of my fav games. My thoughts on sports games. Madden is fun but I wish they had competition, 2k obviously. Mlb the show, the ultimate sim baseball so good it's forced 2k out of the market. And 2k basketball also so good it's forced nba live to not release 2 years ago even tho it shipped to retailers. So please explain why this is one of the worst 2k games. Cause I was thinking of buying it.

Thing about this game is gamers at different levels like the game for their favorite modes.

My verdict is it's better than 2k12-2k14. Controls have been fixed to an extent. I only play team-up all star, team-up private, and sometimes head to head. I don't care anything about Myteam or Myplayer. Those are for the casual gamers.

Just dissapointing how the online server acts like a PS2 generation game. You gotta deal with disconnects and glitches.

For basketball afficionados this is bar none the best basketball game I've ever played. And I've played them since Live started (94?) and NBA Jam days. If you're into controls and gameplay there is no question this is king. I run teams with plays that run smooth as butter and players react according to what the D gives them such as back door cuts. The movement is so natural now and with very little to complain about compared to last year; which was amazing but definitely had lots of things to tighten up, like players picking up loose balls. All of that is fixed this year. They have taken some player moves out to make things simpler but with the new animations and how things flow, the game more than makes up for it and in hindsight a better move to take some of those moves away (such as running hook driving lateral to the paint).

What I'm getting from this is the game is just as good as 14 if not better but the servers suck and bring it down. Which is something 2k fans are used to, but that doesn't make it acceptable.

The gameplay is sublime. Way better than last year's but on a surface level can look the same.

I think that IGN should of gave it that low of a score. At least an 8.5, if you look at the total package, you get a very meaty, great looking, most realistic, and awesome game playing basketball sim. It definitely an upgrade from NBA 2K14, especially for me , because I just got a PS4.

I have NBA2k15 and I have to agree with the review. I got rid of NBA2k14 in December last year because it was mostly unplayable because of the servers.

If you can't play the game, no matter how great it is, it should be down-rated.

Right now, I have not had any server issue with NBA2k15, but I have only gotten to play two games of MyPlayer. I will just keep my fingers crossed that the servers don't ruin the game like it did for '14.
