Dead Island is what could be described as a sleeper hit from 2011. The co-op-orientated-first-person- zombie-apocalypse-action-open-w orld-RPG-survival-horror game garnered luke-warm reviews, but generated a cult fan base and optimism that the franchise could evolve into something more polished in the future.
