Not only did Sony have to pay Fox to stay Blu-ray exclusive, they had to give them the distribution rights to James Bond.

An act of desperation or just stupidity?

Fishy Fingers3868d ago (Edited 3868d ago )

Who cares, they won. Paid off Id say. Quit living in the past. You need to knock that hd-dvd player shaped chip off your shoulder.

A lot of people got cheated.

Go back under your bridge in the open zone. It's where you belong.

The new Bond 2008 "Quantum of Solace" is a Columbia Pictures/MGM (Sony)

So is Casino Royale..

"Sony Pictures currently distributes MGM/UA and Columbia TriStar co-productions— including the recent Casino Royale—but outside of the co-productions MGM is now actively involved in acquiring worldwide film rights and distributing theatrical motion pictures in the United States. 20th Century Fox is handling the international theatrical distribution and worldwide home video distribution of MGM titles, excepting those which Sony Pictures acts as majority partner."

Owner Providence Equity Partners (29%)
TPG Capital, L.P. (21%)
Sony (20%)
Comcast (20%)
DLJ Merchant Banking Partners (7%)
Quadrangle Group (3%)

Desperation and Stupidity? They won. Desperation if they actually sacrificed tons of profit. Stupidity if they didn't know what they were doing. However, they won, and I know for a fact that you do not work at Sony HQ so you wouldn't know if it was any of these anyway, precisely because you are trolling.

One question though, does your comment came out of desperation for having some attention, or just out of stupidity? I also wonder... no, I actually know that you do not give a damn about MGS and just made that relatively new account for the sake of trolling as if you were a Sony fan but an Xbox fanboy in disguise. Almost, but not quite clever.

I'll never consider Casino Royale to be a bond movie. it was a great action movie,e but not a bond movie

Fishy Fingers3868d ago (Edited 3868d ago )

It's based on the Ian Fleming book, Casino Royale, the first Bond I believe he wrote.

The only alteration was changing backarack for poker. Oh and they electrocute his nuts, not smash them with a rope and generally modernist.

I liked it. Nice to see Bond actually take a bit of a kicking. It also sets the tone and reason for the constant womanizing in all the other movies.

Oh and it introduces SMERSH through Mr White (the guy he shoots in the ankle at the end), the early Bond bad guy organisation.

Wiki SMERSH > (I'm a bond fan ;))

Unfortunately, if you don't consider Casino Royale a Bond movie, then you're not aware that:

1) It was the first Bond written by Ian Fleming

2) You're seeing James Bond how he was before all the womanizing and lack of trust - he was vulnerable and gullible like any other man and he had to be tempered and become learned in what he can and can't do with friends and enemies, and women.

3) Basically, James Bond was a n00b at the beginning, like we all are whenever we start something, and Casino Royale was all about James Bond getting his n00b ass handed to him, until he couldn't take it anymore and he started to realize how to act properly.

I guess I just grew up on James bond and don't want A classic to sell out I hope Get Smart holds true
