Pentagon think tank hires ‘Call of Duty’ creator to advise on future threats to US

You would think war-themed video games copy real life, and not the other way around. Not this time. A Washington think tank has hired the maker of the acclaimed “Call of Duty” game to envision the kind of future wars the US could be fighting.

The key reason for this, according to the Atlantic Council think tank, is that, with all its money and capabilities, America really isn’t thinking creatively about the various threats it could face in the 21st century.

Dave Anthony, the creator of the billion-dollar Call of Duty franchise, will be joining other authors, screenwriters and entertainment figures in an initiative called 'The Art of Future War Project,' set to launch next week, according to AFP.

Pentagon should stop screwing with every country in the world and they will no longer be facing threats from the pissed off people of these countries. America has gained a reputation of doing more harm than good whenever they try to help so it is wise for them to stop interfering in the matters of other countries and let them deal with their problems on their own.

Good idea. Every country should stop caring about every other country. Then we'll definitely have world peace.

DeadlyOreo2583d ago

Yes let's just have these terrorist organisations run riot across the globe, that sounds sensible. Without interference at some point these problems are inevitably going to spread.

Sure let the U.S. leave everyone alone. Let the North Koreans take over South Korea; China to continue to take islands from Vietnam and the Philippines; the border wars of the Arab nations caused by the Britain and France at the end of WWI; Piracy off Africa and ASEAN. Etc...

But if they did that, how would the innocent weapon manufacturers and multinational corporations make their money? We need to go to war so they can profit on the lives of Americans and others we continually throw into the chipper, while destroying the US as much as we can.

Go Socialism! /s

LOL, that's hilarial. They think that the COD creators will have some insightful advice on future threats to the US? Really? Seems like they're getting lazy over there at the Pentagon, or just stupider.

They are trying to sound "cool" for he kids.

WTF Pentagon!

That's like hiring Stephen Hawking to sing at your wedding!!!

How bout hiring a "specialist" in the subject matter?
Michael Moore would be of much more use tbh
(anticipates the disagrees just because I mentioned Michael Moore)

What the f**k kind of advice could the COD creator provide
Apart from "You wanna watch out for Dolphin Divers(Floor F**ckers) and bunny hoppers and watch out for clipping within walls"

We can't handle current threats let alone future threats.

aerisbueller2584d ago

No, unfortunately, they're serious. Russia Today is just a regular news channel.

I drew a picture of a building, it was a masterpiece.

Now I've been paid to build the biggest, most important building in the world.

Make sense?
