Wasn't San Andreas bigger? It seemed bigger than GTA5....

YodaCracker3920d ago (Edited 3920d ago )

Not even close. The limited draw distance made SA seem much larger than it really was. Take a look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

SA's map could fit many times into GTA V's.

Matt6663920d ago

But it did have three cities instead of one, which where San Andreas, San Fierro and Las Venturas. Plus I perfer GTA SA over GTA for a number of my own opinions

Here is a comparison: http://www.rockstarnexus.co...
Maybe San Andreas just look bigger because there are many other cities.

ShinFuYux3918d ago

What's the third map on the bottom or above los santos?

S11m3918d ago (Edited 3918d ago )

Red Dead Redemption
Top of the map is GTA San Andreas and in the middle GTA IV.

Also, Below is a rough approximation of the size and scale of Rockstar’s games so far:
GTA III = 3 sq. mi.
GTA: Vice City = 3.5 sq. mi.
GTA: San Andreas = 13.6 sq. mi.
GTA IV = 6.8 sq. mi.
Red Dead Redemption = 12 sq. mi.
GTA V = 49 sq. mi.

GTA V is huge!

smolinsk3920d ago

Thy need to make a much larger map in gta6 maybe like just cause 2.

hkgamer3920d ago

does gta really need bigger cities? would just be empty places which takes devs way too long to develop.

i found gtaiv big and thats supposedly a lot smaller than v right? they should concentrate on putting even more details in the city instead.

Scenarist3918d ago

My problem with games with such claim is the scale of things.

Example... run 1 -2miles in game . .and see if even a minute has passed in real time

hkgamer3918d ago (Edited 3918d ago )

im not too sure about that, are you really sure its not to scale? maybe people are running too fast?

Scenarist3918d ago

could be that people are running too fast.. sure. but I dont think its too fast in the sense of keeping things fun paced tho. I guess I need to summarize my thoughts in my head on the subject because i just realized there are many more variables to scale as we perceive it.

Milk...get your milk...and so much more. Really when you release the same games in three editions over 15 years it's amazing how much money, and the amount of sales you earn. It's amazing how no one can compete.

Mr_cheese35d ago

To be fair, no many companies could release the same game over and over. They've earned that whether we agree or not

DarXyde35d ago

I mean Resident Evil 4 has had longer legs and still hasn't done anything like this.

Profchaos35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

GTA v isn't the only game that's released three consoles generations running but nothing has sold those numbers including GTA San Andreas which is now 4 console generations deep.

anast35d ago

Looks like a 2040 release for GTA6

gold_drake35d ago

thats insane right?
absolutely insane

rlow135d ago

No surprising considering that it’s been on every major platform and store.

I decided to look up the longest and most sold games list. To my surprise Tetris has takes the top spot.

I mean, considering the amount of time between the two. It better be a massive upgrade. Especially with the amount of money Rockstar raked in from GTA Online.

MDTunkown43d ago

Most of scenes are pre rendered

andy8543d ago

Literally none are. If you know anything about rockstar they don't do that. Confirmed by themselves that this is all in-game

MDTunkown43d ago

Is that why first gta5 trailer looked better than the final product? Or is that why same happened with rdr2 ?
Rockstar told 50% are cutscenes and rockstars always used better models during cutscenes than in game.
You legit seems to know rockstar very well.

andy8542d ago (Edited 42d ago )

It didn't though? And neither did RDR2. In fact it was actually the opposite. What's with the hate boner? If you don't like it just avoid the topic

InUrFoxHole42d ago

Why don't either of you provide proof. This is just a he said, she said argument at this point

generic-user-name43d ago

You're either lying or just don't know what pre rendered means. Pre rendered means that if you change the character's appearance (clothes, accessories etc) they wouldn't show up in the cutscenes because they were already made and aren't being rendered in real time. This is something that doesn't happen in Rockstar games.

"Is that why first gta5 trailer looked better than the final product? Or is that why same happened with rdr2 ?"

In fact some of the scenes in RDR2 looked better in the retail version than at launched.

anast42d ago

The OP is taking the shot-gun approach: say a bunch of random tripe and see if something sticks.

repsahj42d ago

Damn! GTAV graphics are still awesome! But, I am so excited to play GTA6!!!
