NowGamer: "There’s no doubting that we love Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty; as a remake it did everything it needed to for the PS1 classic, and you really need to buy it. Go on.
But there was a complaint. The controls were slicker, but by mapping entire movement to the analogue stick it could become – at least initially – a little awkward to control Abe during those particularly tricky feats of dexterity."
Every Oddworld game can be nabbed for just $1, or if you're based in the UK, £1 via Fanatical, a perfect deal for Steam Deck.
That's a steal for Munch's Odyssey and Stranger's Wrath alone. Not a fan of the other games in the series, but I know some people really enjoy them.
Starting today, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is free at Epic Games Store. The free game offer runs until December 19 at 11 AM Eastern. Once you claim it, it’s yours to keep.
"If you're a 2D puzzle adventure aficionado who doesn't already own Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on one of the half dozen consoles that it's currently available for then it'll make for a worthy purchase but those who do have it will find little reason to get it again on Switch." - A.J. I thought controls were really solid, the only thing I had an issue with was the communication with other Mudokans as I was so used to using the different shoulder buttons from the PS1 game but after playing for a while it just became second nature to use the d-pad instead.
Can't wait for the Vita version to be released as well!
