The Secret of Life Is Video Games, Says 106-Year-Old Man

"Retired college professor Xu Fenghuang has seen some of the most chaotic times of Chinese history. Despite all the excitement in his life, Xu's spending his retired years playing brain games.

Sina Games reports that Xu, who was a professor at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, spends parts of his day playing video games. Sina says that Xu credits games as one of the reasons that his mind is alert and active."

The story is too old to be commented.

Lol you always get interesting answers out of old people.

I did some volunteer work at a retirement home years ago, and there was a 103 year old woman there of sound mind, and i asked her how she made it so long and she said "good wine and good sex".

On top of that, the ratio of men to women in nursing homes is outstanding! Women live much longer.

Maybe if I stop eating so poorly, I can grow old, too.

There's this skit with Patton Oswalt - can't remember if it was MAD TV or SNL or something else - where he's touring human bodies magic school bus style. Basically, they discover cancer in a super fit athlete, reveal that an an alcoholic will live to be 100, etc. And Patton is just like 'screw it' and swigs a bottle of whiskey. It rings pretty true to how human life, sadly, plays out; genetics play a massive role in how long you live and our habits play a more minor role than we wish they would. Not that you can't live longer with healthy habits, it's just that you can't live to be 100 if you don't have the right genetics.

edit: I really can't find the skit. I googled everything I could think of.
