The massively anticipated PS4 exclusive Bloodborne has a big presence at Tokyo Game Show with a large amount of demo station to give the Japanese audience their first taste of the game. Here are about 20 minutes of gameplay from the show floor.
Game just looks better each time I see it...what strikes me about this video is how fluid it is. Also, I like how fast you can move around - guy's got a decent run, which is nice. Loving the sound in particular- that Cleric Beast screech goes right through you!
Glad to see you can change your costumes. But this video sucks to me, it's just footage of a TV, and noise from a public place. I can't even hear the game.
That feathery costume looks great when he's running or going up a ladder. You're right, I wish the video was direct feed with game sound, but this was just TGS; it will come. Also, most of these guys are pretty rubbish at it, but the one at 11:45 gets it and is better to watch. :^)
Hmmm not to throw a damper on the game, but I have concerns about scenery looking the same constantly and the combat looks quite repetitive Is there new moves you can acquire and unlock? Not played any of the souls games yet but had a slight interest. I wonder if the co-op will be full campaign co-op or just some fights cause thats a deal-breaker for me. I'd rather play this whole game co-operatively.
Lightening Mr Bubbles: I agree the video sucks. To Spinal: I agree this looks very repetitive. I have no problems with hack&slash but the pacing in this game seems slow. I also was wondering. What is the point of making updated visuals in a game but use last gen rag doll physics with flashes of blood on screen. Characters on the screen move like the zombies in Resident evil 4. Yep..... Looks like Just a pretty version of the Resident Evil 4 engine.....lol More excited for shadow of mordor and new dragon age game than this game at this time.
Bloodborne and The Order same month? It's my wife who will not be happy :) @below: haha yeah! all depends how you see it :) she'll actually watch me play The Order for its scenario and cinematographic setup.
Really? I would think it's the opposite, that your wife would be thrilled, not having to deal with you.
My wife will be wanting to play first lol
Looks like a fantastic successor to Demon Souls. Love how brutal the gameplay is. あい
Please tell me what these signs mean? ^^
means love source: google translate :)
Haven't played any of the souls game, can't wait to play this. Looks stunning every time I see it.
As someone who has not played Demon's / Dark Souls I'm really looking forward to this game. I've seen one trailer and it looks great but I'm not watching anymore until I play it.
kinda looks odd lugging that giant hammer on your back lol, but other than that the game looks fantastic!
play any final fantasy game and this does not seem to strange any more
February can't come soon enough. :3
Looks interesting worth a rent worst case.
Does look great - are you going to rent a PS4 as well, then?
No buy the system , redbox or Gamefly the game . Now if their were somewhere I could rent the system I would .
Ha ha ha ha great one. G20wly - 1 castillo - 0
So...not a single tester in TGS can beat the cleric beast? Anyway, in this demo we can choose 4 job/character compare to E3/Gamescom who only had 2. The scythe, axe, giant hammer, and dual sword guy. I wonder how many job/character we can have in the retail ver.
The A.I. looks a bit suspect in places (the enemy still attacking a position despite your character having moved several seconds earlier). I realise they're performing a stringed attack but at points it looks really silly. Looks beautiful though.
yeh the A.I is so bad no one can beat the demo /s
Watch from 18 mins in for example. The character has moved towards the camera a second before the enemy takes a double strike where the character once was. This happens several times. I'm not hating, just pointing out what I noticed.
this is awesome. loved the coop in Demon/DarkSouls. Does somebody know how it is implemented in Bloodborne? Or is it this time Drop In/Drop Out?
This game and The Order are 2 reasons enough to choose a PS4 - amazing games that Sony always puts out every gen. Looks insane and will be a ton of fun.
Don't get why the collector's edition still isn't up on Amazon. And no it isn't sold out, I've been watching it since it's been announced.
Is it like a slash em up? Looks kinda run of the mill.
no its a demon souls kinda game and none of those have been "run of the mill"
I have never owned a Microsoft device of any kind. I own a PS4, bought it day one and would rather give up gaming than play on a MS or Nintendo console. My reply was a reflection of what I saw in the video, nothing more. I know it looks beautiful, I'm glad its a Sony exclusive, very excited by the game, just don't like it when the characters string an attack on thin air in the opposite direction to where the protagonist is now standing. It's quickly over and admittedly doesn't take anything away from from the experience except that it niggles the mind and takes away from the "suspension of disbelief". Kind of like "uncanny valley" when the action, characters and environments look that good and smooth the slightest thing out of place or unnatural stands out like a sore-thumb. The tiniest thing out of place pierces the bubble of believability which stops the experience from being perfect. Maybe I should just convince myself that the enemy has a morbid fear of flies and a bad case of violent diarrhea-causing food poisoning contracted at last night's "Bad Guys and Cannon-Fodder 1st annual Hog Roast and Botulism Ball" every time I play it. You only have to read my prior comments to realise that I'm a big PS4 fan and have no interest in playing games on any other system. In fact I've bought every single PlayStation on day one since the PS1 first launched and haven't bought a rival console since before PlayStation was even thought of (the original PlayStation brought me back from an Amiga/PC setup). Yep, I'm probably considered a fanboy to most people, to think of me as an MS fanboy is simply intolerable, you've made me feel sick and dirty to my core now, I'm going to need a lot of soap and hot showers to scrub that hateful slur from my being. Please do the honourable thing and apologise for such a hideous remark, to suggest that I am in some way affiliated with the XBO is an absolute insult. PS/ sorry dirtypimp this was meant for the comment below.
Looks like there's a lot of crowd control at certain parts as the challenge which is a new dynamic as Demon's Souls didn't really have that many areas with tons of enemies (a man platinumed). Here's hoping they figured out games can have difficulty settings and trophies will show who the true masters of the game are if you're worried about everyone beating it. Though Demon's Souls wasn't that hard it just artificially extended its content by having you restart the level every time you died even though bosses were often the only challenge. Some levels you unlock shortcuts but most times it was a slog though easy enemies for 20 minutes each time before you got to the challenge which is bad game design and should be fixed. More checkpoints would be a big plus.
In a word....phenomenal. Is it 2015 yet???
