Why are Thrusmaster Steering Wheels so expensive? This is $399!!

xHeavYx3506d ago

And it doesn't even have clutch

URNightmare3506d ago

This looks exactly like the Logitech G25 I bought a couple of years ago for $130. The G27 with clutch goes for $299. This Thrustmaster Racing Wheel with no clutch is $399....W.T.F.?.!

"And it doesn't even have clutch"

And the cost clutch set (TP3A) $99 and stand alone shifter TH8A for $149. That's $649 for the complete combo and it's not worth it. I have the TX 458 which is this wheel twin just that it's compatible with the X1. It's an okay wheel. Fanatec products blow these wheels away and cost a bit more but unlike the Thrustmaster they're worth it.

On topic:
This wheel was announced 6 months ago so you're al little late to the party. Not only that but Thrustmaster is doing a horrible job with allocation and their products are very over priced since they're made out of cheap plastic.

Dasteru3506d ago (Edited 3506d ago )

$399 isn't that expensive. Thrustmaster is considered mid-range for consumer grade wheels.

That is $1350 for the base setup. $1450 if you want the handbrake also.

And it's worth every penny.
Fanatec products blow Thrustmaster out of the water. I have them all.

Thustmaster has okay FFB and good tactile response but their products are made out of cheap plastic. Fanatec offers so much higher quality products and are so much more versatile with their displays and being able to change settings on the fly.

The Thrustmaster T-80 racing wheel for the PS4 is $99 and is compatible with the PS3 too.

@XHeavYX
there's no clutch because there's shifter paddles behind the wheel.

TXIDarkAvenger3506d ago

G27 has shifter paddles and comes with a clutch and H-shifter. Not to mention its cheaper than this.

Akuma2K3506d ago (Edited 3506d ago )

But the G27 racing wheel (or any other Logitech racing wheels for that matter) isn't compatible with DriveClub, The Crew and F1 2015 and other upcoming PS4 racing games.

Thustmaster is now the official maker for all racing steering wheels for this next gen for PS4.

Actually the New Fanatec CSW V2 will be compatible with the PS4 and Xbox One soon.

SoapShoes3506d ago

But Logitech is leaving that business, which is why it isn't supported anymore. :( The G27 was awesome.

TXIDarkAvenger3506d ago

Ah didn't know it wasn't supported. Hopefully there is support in the future.

The t500rs(same drive system) offers a extra pedal and can probably find cheaper than the t300 , but you lose the dedicated ps4 layout to the ps3 one on the t500 , that means losing the share button , but the good news is you can use the pads.

ps5fanboy3506d ago (Edited 3506d ago )

Driveclub (not sure about project cars) doesn't have clutch control programmed in on release , so if clutch is missing from project cars which I doubt tbh then it may be worth having ATM or not on ps4 , can always be added , as can a traditional gear stick.

Bare in mind also , the t500 offers fixed padel shifters , which I suppose are better for pro drivers.
