Destiny is coming next week, and Sony is enjoying some timed exclusive content as well as offering the ability to play the game using your Vita, if you'd like to step away from your PlayStation 4 and television.

Anywhere with a solid and stable connection.

FriedGoat3512d ago

I remote played this from beta. It worked great, even when out of the house.

XBLSkull3512d ago

Nice bungie on the front touch screen, that rear touch pad is the worst invention ever and should never be used for anything.

inmusicutrust3512d ago

Played it from bed during the beta, only tried the competitive mode, kicked ass my first round and was having so much fun I had to go downstairs and play it on the big screen (mainly cause I wanted to chat w my buddies)

nX3512d ago

^You were really competitive on the Vita in the crucible? I remote played during the Beta but only PvE, maybe I should try out PvP as well... nothing better than playing in bed :D

inmusicutrust3511d ago

@bloodborn

The first match I played I did excellent, second match I wasn't doing as well but when I switched halfway through to the console I only did slightly better. Overall I'd say tough matches will be harder on vita but the average match will be a blast. Really fun being able to play from bed, and being able to seamlessly switch from ps4 to vita and back without exiting the game makes it that much better. One more match before bed has a whole new meaning this generation!

Fixay3512d ago

Yes this feature only activates once you are in bed.

GusBricker3512d ago

Don't worry, you can play from your porcelain throne, too.

AllThingsShining3512d ago

Is it possible to remote play from a ps3 too?

our_games_are_art3512d ago

Million dollar question here, anyone know?

inmusicutrust3512d ago (Edited 3512d ago )

No you cant, there are a handful of games you can remote play, but nothing worthwhile is on the list unfortunately. You can see the list on my comment below.

nX3512d ago

No, unfortunately not. The PS4 is built specifically to enable system-side RemotePlay for all games. On PS3, only a dozen of games support it but I have to say that it's a system-selling feature for me. It's crazy to play your PS4 through your friends or workplaces' WiFi, it probably even works cross-country.

inmusicutrust3512d ago (Edited 3512d ago )

Theres a verrry short list of ps3 remote play games. Nothing big is on that list.

Here is the list:

ALL PS1 CLASSICS

Anarchy: Rush Hour
Bejeweled 2
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger
God of War Collection
GundeadliGne
Gundemonium Recollection
High Stakes Poker on the Vegas Strip
Hitogata Happa
Lair
Peggle
PixelJunk Monsters
PixelJunk Shooter
Retro/Grade
Robotics
Sim City 2000
The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection

Wow good to know that I can play this on a crappy resolution screen with horrible controls in the same spot that I can play it in 1080p. I do not understand how remote play is a viable option for some people. Just play it on your TV and on your non-laggy PlayStation. Vita is just a pointless handheld to have. Oh, unless you want platforming arcade games that my phone could run. It was my biggest waste of money this year. Can't believe I bought a vita what a waste

Killzoner993512d ago

Anybody who really owned a Vita would never say that. Nice try though. Sony has reenergized the Vita with the PS4 and over a hundred games were just announced making it the must have device right now. Remote play might be the best innovation brought to gaming in the last 10 years. You can play your console games anywhere in the world. How can you say that's a bad thing troll?

rocky0475863511d ago

you can tell that fool had no idea what he was talking about. He was obviously referring to the PSP remote play that was kind of whack and useless. This remote play, however, is lag-less and seamless, you literally can watch what you're doing on the Vita and on the TV and there is ZERO lag. The resolution looks just as good, if not better because you're on a smaller screen and that OLED screen looks gorgeous.

Lwhit63511d ago (Edited 3511d ago )

I have owned a Vita and that's why I hate it. Sold it to my friend and now he never plays it. You're delusional if you think I'm a troll.

Remote play doesn't work half of the time. Even with the strongest connections you're a liar if you think it does and is even the least bit fluid. The only thing the Vita is good for is pointless arcade games.

If you people really want me to I'm sure I can dig up my order history at GameStop to let you know I gave Vita a way bigger chance to impress me than I should have.

@rocky. You are quite literally out of your mind if you think the Vita has a "better resolution" than a 1080p Samsung TV. I'm sorry that you all feel the need to justify blowing 200+dollars on a horrible gaming device. I certainly am not going to sit here and act like my Vita purchase was anything more than a waste of money.

Sheed3512d ago

Well, on my college campus i found remote play pretty useful since the whole campus has wifi.

Dan_scruggs3512d ago

Cross play. It's almost like the Vita has real games. - Some Guy at Sony Probably

Compared to the fake Vita games?

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood326d ago (Edited 326d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro325d ago (Edited 325d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881325d ago (Edited 325d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell325d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig325d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast325d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername325d ago (Edited 325d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g325d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka325d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai476d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface475d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard473d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
