Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Review | The Vita Lounge

Kyle from The Vita Lounge writes;

"I’m going to be perfectly honest with you all; going into Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair I really didn’t know what to expect. The first game was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time – but could the second repeat that? I wasn’t so sure at the time, but I’m here to tell you now that it has."

After thoroughly enjoying P4G more than I thought I would, I'm very interested in another title in a similar style. Would this appeal to me? Or is playing the first essential?

Playing the first is pretty much essential, and when you enjoy that one ('cause you will) you'll have to pick up Goodbye Despair too ;)

While it has some similarities to Persona, don't expect a full blown RPG. Danganronpa is a mystery / horror visual novel with some Phoenix Wright gameplay elements. That means you'll spend most of the time watching events unfold.

That said, those events and the way it's written will glue the Vita to your hand! And the gameplay sections are quite an adrenaline rush!

Ughhh now I want this game even more thanks Kyle!

I just can't understand these Japanese games. Maybe I'm too grounded in my western ways, but the game play in them just doesn't work for me. But I appreciate that other people seem to really like them, and that's cool.

So if it's a good game that sells more Vitas, then I'm all for it. I won't be playing this anytime soon, but I hope a lot of people do.

I love these type of games, that being said I can see why some people don't . At least you don't bash it , that's cool.

I just finished the third chapter of the first game and ooooooh boy I already can't wait for the sequel!
