"a current generation console", not consoles.

Please let it be Gravity Rush for PS4 to go alongside the inevitable Gravity Rush 2 PS4 announcement.

WillGuitarGuy3945d ago

I'm going to freak out if it's Gravity Rush on PS4. That game is so good. Kinda makes me sad that the GR stage never made it to PS All-stars, but oh well.

Nitrowolf23945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

Gravity Rush is an amazing Vita game, and as much as I would love it on the PS4, along with the sequel, Sony really needs to stop dumping on the Vita. It seems that they are trying to slowly kill it off themselves, given the lack of major titles hitting it, and them starting to port over some of the unique titles that helps gives it an identity.

Now if this was along the lines of Uncharted Golden Abyss, that I could understand if they were doing an HD port collection of the PS3 version to the PS4 and needed the handheld ported as well.

Enemy3945d ago

I know how you feel, Nitrowolf2. Most Vita owners feel the same way, myself included. Thing is, I've accepted that the Vita has been somewhat of a failure. It's a gorgeous handheld with some great games, but even Sony has admitted that the Vita is under-performing. Ideally, Gravity Rush would be better off on PS4. It's too good to let it die on Vita. It started as a PS3 game, after all.

iamnsuperman3945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

Well if you slowly starve it then come out with a new focus (PS Now possibly remote play on mobile devices) then I don't think the reaction would be as dramatic. It would be more well we saw this coming. I personally don't think Sony is fully ready to give up on the Vita but they should and they will eventually

Saying that Gravity Rush on the PS4 wouldn't be that great. The one reason Gravity Rush is a god game is because you can move the device. It makes things less disorientating. It is a brilliant game but I don't want to see Gravity Rush on PS4. It isn't suited for it. Now if they some how did a Bioshock move it would be more suitable (practical wise)

TheGrimReaper00113945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

While I would like a new Gravity Rush game, I'd be rather dissapointed if it came out on PS4 or at least PS only.

Gravity Rush is a Vita Exclusive and the Vita is already in a tight spot. It doesn't have to lose even more ground by either porting exclusives to consoles or making sequels to exclusive vita titles on PS4

However, we already had an announcement trailer for Gravity Rush 2, confirming it to be released on PS Vita

SpiralTear3945d ago

It's probably Gravity Rush.

Beetey3945d ago

I REALLY hope this doesn't involve the Vita losing another exclusive...

vergilxx33944d ago

It probably means that vita will lose another great exclusive game

WeAreLegion3945d ago

Please be Gravity Rush!!! This game deserves more fans.

tachy0n3945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

buy a vita and play it, the experience is worth it. no need to lose an exclusive from a console in such a delicate state.

WeAreLegion3945d ago

I have a Vita. I have played Gravity Rush many times.

It's fine to port amazing games from the Vita to the PS4. It's not losing anything. Nobody is going to buy a Vita just for Gravity Rush at this point. Trust me.

TongkatAli3945d ago (Edited 3945d ago )

It can go to the PS4. I don't care and you have the right to hate who you wanna hate, you have your reason's.

No bullshit, I think you're right about how it deserves more fans, Kat has potential to be a famous name in gaming.

I am an elitist, hehe.

HentaiMasterRace3945d ago

Yeah Vita is fücked. My favorite handheld is now officially fúcked. Hahaha , great Sony. Just GREAT!

tachy0n3945d ago

and then they complain when the community hacks their consoles, they bring it onto themselves with such intolerable actions, instead of giving people something worth paying for. im like this from selling my vita, Gravity Rush 2 will define my Vita's fate.

dcj05243945d ago

Bro, tons of great VITA games have came out, are coming out and will come out. You're doing yourself a great disservice gaming wise if you sell OT now at it height.

tachy0n3944d ago

indie games and ports dont count, the vita needs games like gravity rush.

i even preordered the vita when it had been announced and Gravity Rush was the first game i bought with it, i find it tragic that sony is treating such an amazing device this way, it has tons of potential. :(

Sony's Licensing Strategy May Be the Best Route to Reviving Some of PlayStation's Lost Classics

Sammy: "It’s sad that PlayStation has moved on from some of these iconic brands, but it would be worse watching them rot. At least with this licensing strategy, there’s a legitimate opportunity for more great franchises to get a second chance. And if they sell really well, there’s always the chance Sony may decide to bring them back."

Love this idea. Let other companies release reboots of these classics to a wider audience. Everyone wins.

Eonjay81d ago

It's what most IP holders do.

jznrpg82d ago

Remaster Puppeteer. It looked great on PS3 but it would be nice to have on PS5 with fast loading and some sort of 4k

Man I'd love to see GR3. Unfortunately Somy didn't do well to advertise these games and AAA gaming is what most gamers preferred.

This gen has been different, indies and smaller games are what people absolutely love now so I wonder how these games would do if they were to release now. These games would also need a PC release.

Cacabunga118d ago (Edited 118d ago )

GR2 was nice but i don’t think it’s made for a home console. It played like a dream on vita. Same for tearaway. Ps4 version was boring but vita was glorious.
Japan studio made amazing titles for everyone. Call them AA if you like but they can work on jrpg reboots and sequel of bloodborne. Maybe even let them remake old gems even from other developers. I don’t think a partnership with SNK to develop Koudelka remake will be unnoticed. But bad management is where it’s at. AA disappeared but let’s invest everything in gaas

Knushwood Butt117d ago

GR2 was never on Vita, oddly, but yes, the fist game was best on Vita and the gyro controls really suited the game and worked well too. Vita had a ton of tech built into it.

I platted GR1 on Vita and PS4.
I couldn't play GR2 more than a couple of hours. Bought it day 1. Still have it. Tried twice but just couldn't get into it.

isarai119d ago

I mean can you really say it closed when 90% of the staff is at Asobi Games which was originally a team in Japan Studio?

blackblades118d ago

Don't try to spin it the studio is no mo end of story

pwnmaster3000118d ago

I mean he has a point.
I get it the studio is gone but what makes the studio, the people who works there.

For example people say BioWare is not BioWare no more because the people who made BioWare left.
Team Asobi may not be named studio Japan no more but if 90% of the workers is from studio Japan then it’s damn near the same and they still in Japan.

isarai118d ago (Edited 118d ago )

Not trying to spin it, that's literally the facts, Asobi absorbed Japan studio, and a small portion left but most of the Japan studio staff are still there 🤨. They're certainly taking a different direction that Japan studio but it's still the same people in the same office working for the same publisher 🤷‍♂️

Hell even the DNA is the same. Astrobot shares a lot in common with how it feels and controls with games like puppeteer and knack

blackblades118d ago

Saying that is like saying they gonna be making gravity rush 3 which is a no. The studio itself is gone the workers that went to asobi isnt gonna be making the same games

isarai118d ago

Wtf are you going on about, no one said any of that, why you makin sh!t up just to argue? 🤣

Scissorman117d ago

that's a bit of poor argument. i mean look at naughty dog. they don't make crash, jak & daxter , or uncharted games anymore either.

jznrpg118d ago

Bring Puppeteer to PS5 please! Love that game. Gravity Rush collection would be ice as well.

isarai118d ago

I've been shouting that games underrated nature for so long. I honestly think it has more unique charm and heart than astrobot, and if people rediscovered it they would really see Japan studio has always been a special studio

jznrpg117d ago

All the different heads and abilities were awesome. The aesthetic was awesome. The level design was so much fun. It is the true meaning of underrated, sadly.

Melankolis118d ago

Understandable. Adult gamers, while still having interest in AA gaming, have so little time that they choose to play AAA instead. Indie too, being fun and cheap, who could resist? they are too, time-consuming.

Eonjay118d ago

I think your on to something but for me it feels different. For one, even AAA games can get too time consuming. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is gigantic. Some would say obsessively so. It's quite an achievement simply due to the amount t of content. I definitely have less time for games now and the problem is that there is so much to play. I don't even get to half of the AAA games I want to play.

PlayStation Has Wasted Bluepoint's Potential With Live Service Development

With nothing to show for the last four years of development, Bluepoint Games has been backed into a corner by PlayStation's ambitious but futile live-service efforts. Ultimately, the gaming giant has done the team a disservice by dragging it into this mess.

They could've had a new ip or bloodborne remake/remaster by now. Legend of the Dragoon was a huge request as well...

Cacabunga151d ago

Jim Ryan and Hulst are morons who blindly wanted to surf on fortnite success.
Whatever it takes…

Well i hope the wake up call was brutal enough. Waste so much potential, not wanting to hear about Days Gone 2 and force the studios to make something they don’t want to cancel it a few years later.. hulst should be fired without notice

ravens52151d ago

Exactly. Frickin Hulst and Ryan are clowns man. Smdh. Idiots bro.

thorstein151d ago

What is even sadder is that they had a live service game with millions of players: Destiny.

Love it or hate it, it was making them money.

isarai152d ago

They've wasted all of their studios potential putting them on this live service initiative. It's been terrible this generation their output all because of Jim Ryan's BS

Jin_Sakai152d ago

Yes and Herman Hulst is also pushing this live service bs.

jwillj2k4151d ago

keep voicing your opinion with your wallet and theyll replace him soon enough.

OtterX151d ago (Edited 151d ago )

But what if it were a Socom revival?

Of course I wouldn't want it to take the predatory "live service" route, but obviously the game would center around online play.

JEECE150d ago

What was the last non-live service multiplayer game to sustain a playerbase for any reasonable time?

I hate it, but I think gamers have been so conditioned by the RPG-ification of multiplayer games that, except for smaller niche audiences on PC, they won't accept a game you just play because the gameplay is good. If there isn't a grindy progression system, people will say they don't have a reason to play. If there aren't constant updates with new content, people will say the game is dead and that the publisher put it out and "abandoned" it.

I'd love a real Socom game, but to do the numbers Sony would want, it would have to be live service.

Elda151d ago (Edited 151d ago )

ND, Bend & Bluepoint had no business working on live service games for the past 4 years at the same time, they should have just had 1 or 2 of their newer or lower tier studios as well as Bungie working on live service games. Sony PS working on 12 live service games by their top tier studios was a dumb decision.

tay8701151d ago

Blupoint had been working on the live service game for thr last 2 yrs, not 4 according to Jason. They were a support team for for ragnarok after releasing demons souls.

P_Bomb151d ago

What could’ve been? Bluepoint on GaaS = no point.
