I don't think this is a surprise to anyone. Hopefully EA will eventually learn from this.
The delayed release on PlayStation platforms was probably the cause. I haven't seen any timed exclusives sell more copies after being released on other platforms. This is slightly off topic, but the same thing will probably happen when Rise Of The Tomb Raider is released on PlayStation platforms. If developers pay attention to these statistics, they wouldn't agree to have a timed exclusive on a console platform with a lower install base. Who knows? I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
It was delayed a long time on PS4. Also, it's quite expensive for what it is and people knowing about the game already it's no surprise. Sony didn't try to market it out as much really.
I'll just wait until it goes on PS+.
