NZGamer: Siren: Blood Curse Review - Siren is nothing new but is a short, spooky distraction

NZGamer writes: "Siren: Blood Curse is an expansion of the original PlayStation 2 survival horror gem Siren, a game overshadowed by contemporaries in the genre but which gathered a small cult following nonetheless. Available as downloadable 'chapters' on the Playstation Network, Siren: Blood Curse introduces a variety of new characters to give us multiple points of view of the nightmarish events in the original game.

Blood Curse is split into 12 episodes, each one following one of seven characters and comprising of a beginning, middle and ending, giving the player an intensely story-driven experience. There are certainly pros and cons to this sort of episodic gaming, and Siren: Blood Curse is revealing of whether it actually works.

The story is too old to be commented.

well based on this site MGSIV review this must be an epic game scarier than the omen, halloween, grudge, and ring combined must download for all suspense horror fans. Go buy a ps3 for this epic adventure in horror!

See I can do reviews without ever playing the games too!

They really should have the first "episode" free. I want to try it but I'm not paying anything over 3 bucks.

yea pricing is important, it would be interesting to see how the whole episodic gaming concept works out. Personally i kind of like it. I wish they would do a 24 game for episodic content. They could release an episode along side a season. It would be tough work but it would def be awesome

Why do they still have specific mission objectives in the game? Hopefully, the game tells the player what they need to do unlike Siren 1 & 2 where completing secondary mission objectives is simply by chance. I hated that crap because you had to replay parts of the game over and over until you got it right

The japanese retail version doesn't come out until the end of july. I wonder if the PSN version will come out in june like originally planned?

I don't know why the reviewer criticized the graphics. I thought the demo looked fantastic

Especially considering the fact it's a downloadable title.
