Notch openly bashes Wii U, says it only has 'two games'

Notch, the man behind Minecraft, lashed out several times today voicing his disdain for Nintendo's Wii U console.

Lol to say that about any console is ignorant. I used to bash the Wii and original Xbox but when i owned one i realized both had a ton of hidden gems.

Its a very common trait amongst those who dont have a certain platform. They bash it until they themselves obtain one. then they begin to think the bashing may have been unjust.

i will admit i had ill wills towards the snes until i too got one. And what a great selection of games it had. At that moment, i made a promise to myself that no matter what, i would partake of all the systems within a console generation.

Expensive move to do so but well worth it from the perspective of having all the bases covered when it comes to game releases. There is just too much gaming goodness to limit myself to a single system. I owe it to myself to indulge.

The Wiiu has a better line up of games than the Xbox one and ps4. Hate when people come out and say things like this esp developers. I have more game on my Wiiu than I do for my Xbox one and if this guy can't find a game to play on the Wiiu he bought the wrong console. To this day i still don't understand how Minecraft became such a hit. From the get go i had no interest is wasting my time in there. I get the concept but i do not have a huge amount of time i can dedicate to gaming and this was way down on the list of stuff i would want to play/try

For the Wii U. None of these games I mention are indie, all full retail games.

No, the power isn't that huge a factor, because devs can still make fantastic looking games on the system regardless.
Bayonetta 2 should tell you that much, if nothing else devs.
They're putting games on the PS3 and 360 and skipping Wii U with them, and in a few of those instances they blame power, which makes absolutely no sense.

Also, that 'gimmick'?
It has all the same functions as a normal controller.
If they really want to, they could ignore the screen or just put in off-TV play as a basic option.
There's nothing about that controller that's holding them back from making a good game.

Many of its games more than match last gen games, and surpass them quite easily.
If a developer makes their game look bad on Wii U, that's on them for not getting used to it and drawing out its full potential.
There are INDIES out there that are out-developing third party efforts on Wii U.
That should tell anyone with a brain worth using that some third parties are just plain lazy, but if anyone actually needs proof that third parties have gotten lazy with how they develop games for Wii U, all they need to look at is Sniper Elite V2 and all the crap it's missing compared to its cousins on other systems.

So, yeah, go ahead and keep on blaming the system instead of the developers.

It would be easier to argue the Wii U has the best set of exclusives currently available and arguably the best game this generation (thus far), SM3DW, but no, easier to jump on the bandwagon (bash Nintendo) and ignore that the best game on PS4 is a PS3 game. I do often get confused by the no games argument Wii U has. There is definitely plenty of games on it just not a whole lot of system sellers which is great for anyone who already owns it. Right now my only gripes for it are waiting for Smash or Oddworld to come out on it. :P
