There are some games that seem to get infinite, needless sequels. Then there are other games that we love that get an update every other year, or maybe once a console cycle. Then there are the ones that torture us by never receiving a proper sequel, or at least taking longer than anyone can stand. These twelve games need a sequel like, yesterday.
Double Fine Productions’ masterful Psychonauts turns 20 and it’s still as insightful today as it was back when it was new.
There's still time for the Visceral Games cult classic action-adventure game Dante's Inferno to return to the limelight 15 years later.
Absolutely loved this game. Don't know why it went under the radar with so many people.
I think it was a couple of factors,
1. Everyone was anxiously waiting for God of War 3 to release(myself included), so we could see what the Santa Monica Studio were going to accomplish with the mighty PS3.
2. It was such a direct ripoff of the GoW formula right down to the button prompts, (such as clicking L3 & R3 to activate your ultimate) .
Now, of course lots of games borrow and evolve ideas, but this was like a carbon copy with a different skin and not quite as good or pretty.
3. It was cool to look at, it played fine, good artistic design and everything, but our standards were astronomically high after GoW 1 & 2… and it just wasn’t anything to write home about.
That being said, I have been wanting to revisit it for years.
I think with a few live service features EA could revive the IP and turn it into a million dollar franchise.
Shang-Chi star Simu Liu is working to revive the Sleeping Dogs movie and hopes its success could lead to a long-awaited Sleeping Dogs sequel.
Please do. One of my favorite games from that gen. A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!
Square has their own GTA and they haven't bothered making a sequel. Yet they're wasting money on nfts and live service crap.
Honestly I'd like to see 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run Part II' only this time, make Springfield completely open world, being able to enter all buildings. Single, Co-Op (local & online) and Multiplayer.
There is a sequel to Sleeping Dogs, its called Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars.
I love Okami, would be awesome another game, i still need to play Okamiden. Psychonauts really needs a sequel too. FF Tactics looks great, sadly i never played, even more sad what is happening with Square-Enix nowadays, they are lost, probably they would release it for IOS.
Vanquish 2 would be a dream.
Heavenly Sword IS getting a sequel. Hellblade is the sequel.
Dark Cloud 3.
