65" Sony Bravia Ultra HD 4K TV $3,700

a must have for gaming!!! Makes all my games SO PRETTY!

LightofDarkness3941d ago (Edited 3941d ago )

I believe the operative descriptor here was "cheap".

That said, I wouldn't recommend going sub-€500 on a TV that you plan on using a lot. Sony's Bravia range have the lowest input lag ever recorded for a TV and a 32" W702 can be had for just over €500.

I think you missed the point of the article Mr Capitalist..

MSBAUSTX3941d ago

Except it would be a waste to pay that much to play just a 720p or 1080 P game especially since the bigger the tv the more expanded the pixels are which actually makes the games look worse. Terrible idea unless you are playing PC which 75 percent of the gaming world does not. You are right for PC gaming but not for console.

spektical3941d ago

pretty much this. paying too much for content that isnt supported by an expansive device

LackTrue4K3941d ago

There's a Samsung 4k monitor 28" for under 500 bucks, I think I'll pick it towards the end of the year.

Software_Lover3941d ago

Not even close to a "must have"

medman3941d ago

If people want a cheap tv they should look at the Vizio E and M series 2014 models. They have reviewed well everywhere and offer good value for the money. According to cnet they outperform tv's costing hundreds of dollars more, and their 42,50, and 55 inch sets are steals.

Cheap is right and not in a good way. These tv's are garbage. You can get a solid name brand like Samsung, sony, or Panasonic during the holidays and right before the super bowl for cheap. This article is a waste of your time. You could find a better deal in the open box buy section at your local electronics retailer then you will find in this article. I should know. I used to sell high end tv's. If you want solid reviews on tv's head over to cnet.com. They are the trusted name in tv reviews that the industry looks towards.

My Panasonic Viera 50" plasma 1080P with 1 million to 1 contrast and over 800 Hz refresh rate is the best I have seen and I own a 55" Samsung 240Hz 1080P LED and I still prefer my plasma. It also has built in burn reduction and cooling so it can play for hours and be just fine. Love it and it was only $689. Hard to beat that.

turdburgler10803941d ago

I got a Panasonic plasma too and its hands down better then most tv's out there. Too bad they boxed the line. Lot of ignorant or miss informed folks were conned into crappy expensive tv's. Like moths to a flame. It's really hard to believe the better tech was beaten out by buzz words and mis information. Oh well I'll just wait till the OLED becomes viable then it's the best of both worlds.

kingPoS3941d ago

Why are they promoting 720p sets in 2014? I thought today's media supposed to be delivered in 1080p?

Gateway MT6706 2008

My Vizio E3D32VX is pretty good for gaming and i think its only 349$

Overall great deals for everyone I guess.

For me personally though:

• "players who join PlayStation Plus during this year’s celebration can save up to 33% on select 12-month memberships."

• "players who are currently a PlayStation Plus Essential or Extra member, save 33% on the remainder of your membership when upgrading to PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe."

Ehhh ... Days of Play last until 11th. My subscription expires June, 14th.

I literally am laughing at me rn.

DivineHand12510h ago

If Sony allowed subscriptions to be sold by third party sellers like they did in the PS4 days, you would not have this problem.

VersusDMC10h ago

That's why everyone should get their subscriptions now as last years days of play was may 29 to 12th of june. Mine is expiring on the 7th so i will just get essential or possibly extra this year.

And you can atleast get 15 days of extra or premium at 33% off to try it out.

Profchaos7h ago

You used to be able to stack you Sub with these deals it would be good to do this as I'm not paying 214 for deluxe again

GhostScholar1h ago

This shows how game pass is eating ps plus lunch…..they’re lowering the price and the crazy thing is the premium tier is worse than the tier below it lol

Will see about getting my kid a cheaper PS Plus sub so he can backup and transfer his saves again. Really wish that was free ala XB.

Hopefully Destiny 2 The Final Shape comes with a free gear level upgrade like last year’s PS Plus offering. To bring you up to speed with all the content and everyone else. I still need to do a Nightfall Strike on Grandmaster difficulty, but ain’t got time to grind.

More like Days of Meh.... no specialized controllers or systems like in 2018 and 2019.

Eonjay13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

I mean it feels like you are forcing yourself to be negative here. Those are some really decent deals tbh. Also, everyone thought PS5 would go up to match Xbox so going down is a nice surprise too.

Eonjay12h ago

They did not confirm price increases. That is a lie.

If you really beleived what you are saying why do you have to keep making alts to say it?

darthv729h ago

None of those deals are of any great consequence to me. I was hoping they would bring back the special themed hardware after a 5 year break. They had it in 2018 and 19 and nothing for 20-24. 25 could have been the year to bring it back.

Boy, that's a real strange and specific goal post to have.

raWfodog10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

To be clear, what are you referring to when you say 'specialized'? Just wanted to know if you had a different take on these controller and system deals.

Deals on PS5 console offerings include:

In the United States and Canada, PlayStation 5 console – Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bundle (Digital and Standard) will be available starting at $399.99 USD / $509.99 CAD (Save up to $119.99 USD / $159.99 CAD compared to buying separately).
In select regions such as Europe and Asia, PlayStation 5 console (Digital and Standard) will be on promotion, starting at €399.99 / £339.99 / ¥65,980.
$50 USD off PlayStation 5 Pro console

There will also be offers for PS5 accessories and games, including:

$50 USD off PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle
$30 USD off Pulse Explore wireless earbuds
$30 USD off DualSense Edge wireless controller
$20 USD off Access controller
$20 USD off DualSense wireless controller

darthv729h ago

Both DoP 2018 and 19 had special themed PS4 slim. I have both and while they did not do them again in 20-24.... I was hoping they would bring it back in 25 with a special themed PS5 slim or even Pro.

This is their way to counter Nintendo Switch 2 launch week. I might get the discounted annual premium subs, but I think the game lineup is weak.

Deathdeliverer13m ago

That games lineup is huge. It’s got new games on there and really good ones like Tekken 8. The PlayStation 5 being cheaper than the switch 2 is a counter in and of itself. Early adopters are early adopters. It will sell well, but not as good as the original switch. Not with that price and a far more capable machine with real online available for less. I think old Reggie said it best. Nintendo thrived on innovation and pushing new ideas. Not just rereleasing better versions of what it already had. The Wii was a massive success. The Wii U…. The 3DS was a big success, the DS XL… The switch huge success. The switch 2….. we will see.

No one gives a crap about Starfield in 2025. I mean seriously, has anyone remembered this game even exists? Lmao

Alos8811h ago

They really aren't. Nothing in Starfield is nearly as iconic as anything from Fallout.
