3 of those reason are ridiculous.... the same will apply to all consoles being sold there.... pricing is a tad ridiculous for MS to be slapping on when it's considerably cheaper in Japan and Worldwide (could be China is forcing the price point but that's just a guess)and point 5 is just point 4 reworded
" As scholar James Q. Wilson has stated, “The poorest Americans today live a better life than all but the richest persons a hundred years ago.”[3] In 2005, the typical household defined as poor by the government had a car and air conditioning. For entertainment, the household had two color televisions, cable or satellite TV, a DVD player, and a VCR. If there were children, especially boys, in the home, the family had a game system, such as an Xbox or a PlayStation. "
Odd you say that because we keep getting articles about the xbone release in China and no complaints it seemed relevant then (there where comments about how amazing it will sell and how china could be the next big thing) but this article isn't positive so isn't needed hmmmm.
Even though I know he's a troll, your logic is a little flawed.
Just because something isn't mentioned, doesn't mean it isn't part of the topic.
I live in Shanghai and have been for the past 8 years. Sony (even though it is japanese) will be met with a much better attitude, no matter the price. I'm not really sure why, possibly because the PS3 had a ridiculously high price so it attained "Apple" status for just being expensive.
And just for an example.. Let's say there's an article about the new Chevy car not selling well because gas prices are rising but the Ford car is selling quite well. Even though one of the reasons isn't listed as people are buying the Ford over the Chevy, doesn't mean it isn't a reason and is indeed on topic.
Alternatively, we are on an article listing 5 reasons not to buy and not reason why they aren't buying. But, it's probably just a fanboy article hiding their true reason for posting this.
That's the dumbest argument. For one, surveys have shown that China prefers the Ps4. And two, if we were to use your logic, Japan wouldn't buy iPhones because America bombed them in WWII. Clearly that isn't the case. I'm not saying the Xbox one won't do well in china, but stop using such a silly, archaic argument to justify your point.
How about this reason? The government region-locked the crap out of it, censoring if not outright banning the games the people might deem worth buying because the contents might undermine their power and influence.
For some reason Google translate isn't working on my Xbox One's Internet Explorer. Would anyone be willing to give me a synopsis, of the reasons listed?
Yeah, Google Translate needs a lot of help with Chinese! :) But the main points seem to be that it costs too much, that it's region locked, and that you won't be able to connect with gamers playing in other regions.
I agree. This has failure written large all over it! Chinese that REALLY want to get an Xbox One are just going to get the Hong Kong or Taiwanese version on the black market, and connect to foreign Live servers via a proxy service (I shudder to think what that will do to latency!). No one is going to want to pay a premium for a locked down console with limited games. (as if the XB1 library wasn't limited enough!)
It is region-locked thanks to the government. Wanna get a game like Grand Theft Auto V? Forget about it. The censorship laws won't allow it. And you thought Australia was bad. To simply put it, they don't trust the people with freedom to choose what entertains them.
Yeah, it will definitely be a tough sell. The F2P game Neverwinter, that they are bundling with the console could provide some incentive in a country in love with F2P, but probably nothing fantastic. I, imagine Sony will take China as well. Thanks for the response by the way. :)

I do not see how this is relevant to anyone outside of China, other than to further the Xbox One smear campaign. Super lame submission.
Well at least they aren't hiding their disdain for this American product and smear.
I dont know how any of you read that story as google translate did a really bad job of translating it.
One reason.... PS4 is coming soony.
