Gamers enthuisatic about 'Resident Evil' HD remake

Capcom official announcement that an HD remastered version of 'Resident Evil' is in the works has been meet with enthusiasm and support from the gaming community. Devoted fans of the series have been demanding an HD remastered version of Resident Evil for a long time and now they finally have their wish.

As a long time fan of the series I've been waiting for this to happen. Finally some old school Resident Evil and not that Call of Duty wannabe game. However I would love to see a modern re-imagining of Resident Evil 2 and 3 combined.

this is what i don't get people hate on other HD remasters but when its their favorite than they become hypocrites

why can't capcom make a new resident evil game that fans want

but this is gaming where gamers will bash a studio for releasing a remaster but when a game announced as a remaster and it happens to be one of their favorites. Than it doesn't matter

This looks for like an experiment that will determine the future of the series. The sales will determine if they should go back to their roots or keep making the same Call of Duty influenced shooters with zombies.

yeah but they already had this game out on gamecube and you can play it in widescreen 1080p on dolphin. RE:2 on the other hand DOES deserve to be remade because it is not out currently.

Resident Evil 1 is one of the only Resident Evil games I never managed to finish as a kid (never played Res6) so this is good news for me

I cant wait to play RE 1 without that damn door-opening clip they play while loading the stage on N64. Frick that pissed me off. Especially if you had to double-back for something.

I wonder if they will keep the typewriter ribbon saves? That dynamic alone kept me in mortal terror. To save or not to save can be very stressful.

Thats really sad if people get excited for this old game, fans should instead be asking for a total new beginning for RE but that can be forgotten now thanks to this same fans that get hyped with a more than 10 year old game, really sad really.

You're really trusting Capcom to make a GOOD brand new Resident Evil after RE6? I sure hope not.

Capcom hasn't had a good track record when it comes to making new games lately. Maybe average but definitely not good.

I'd rather play a polished classic than a brand new turd.

I understand where your coming from and agree to an extent, but with all the remasters their making for games that just came out on PS3 and 360 not even 2 years ago it's nice to see one of the older classics getting a proper facelift. Hopefully if the game sells well enough it could pave the way for more modern remasters of classics like FF7, Onimusha, Soul reaver, etc.

Every gamer who is hating on this coming out should just stop gaming. This is actually an example of when a HD remake is needed. Besides using emulation the only other way of playing this AMAZING game is buy finding a cube, memory card and disc and component cables just to make it look less crappy on your HD tv. We are talking almost $150 plus here or capcom can make it available for systems out now for 40 or 20 or whatever the price is i dont even know. What some people are failing to realize is that there is an entire generation of gamers who only know resident evil 5 and up and this can bring back the genre we have been begging for. Seriously I am embarrassed to be a gamer sometimes by the way the community acts

That's true about the newer generations being able to experience this, and the part about self-centered gamers(me me me, my way to the highway). On the film side, if the studios never re-released their catalog, I would have never gotten to watch the Htchhock classics(and in their proper aspect ratios).

Okay, first - this is not a remake. This is a REMASTER of a remake.

Second, depending on how much cashcom is pricing this, it will make or break it.

while i cannot say that i m not happy with this announcement i will say that i would like a total remake not just an HD port ...RE1 for me was the best of the series and Gamecube remake had some flaws (too dark , a lot of cinematic filters ,trevor holywood cliche scenario) ..they should have worked a bit more and make a full remake for new consoles only (pS4 , x1)

No more remastered please, I want some new IP. I want some new idea, story, gameplay etc...I bought a new system And it is not to play remastered games!!!!
