Latest Oculus Rift Dev Kit Screen is a Galaxy Note 3 Display

The display on the new Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 (DK2) uses the display of a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, as discovered in an iFixit teardown of the virtual reality headset.

The Samsung logo-sporting Galaxy Note 3 display panel in the headset features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 1080p screen with its Synaptics touchscreen controller left intact. As iFixit points out, Oculus VR must have boosted the Note 3 display panel's standard refresh rate of 60 Hz to meet the 75 Hz capability marketed for the Rift DK2.
