Game Idealist: The price for Tomb Raider Definitive Edition has dropped on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
tomb raider was a hell of a game
Fantastic all around, every time someone talks about it it makes me want to go play through it again.
Digital download codes need to be sold through retail so sites like Amazon can discount them. I'm going all digital this gen but it's going to be hard if the only place to purchase digital is through the Xbox store because they won't discount old games as much as a retailer would.
i tried to like it but couldn't the gameplay was ah ..good but the story was all over the place
You mean like this: http://www.amazon.com/PlayS...
I agree with you both. Was a fantastic game. It shocks me when some people badmouth it.
@denawayne good luck with that. With games totaling 50 Gb's per install, I predict your hard drive will be full with a year (unless you upgrade to a 2 Tb).
After having played uncharted 2/3, playing tomb raider didn't feel that great.
Yes it was for a non-Tomb Raider Game
tomb raider is right there with uncharted. This new game is excellent and this is coming from someone who didn't care for previous tomb raider's at all. This new one has an excellent story and gameplay. I bought it off the ps store for $30 and haven't played it until a few days ago. Played it nonstop the first day and am 70% through. Don't ask why I didn't play it til now, I do that with a lot of games because I find myself playing Battlefield or on Netflix most of the time, but I wish I played this game sooner...
They definitely put a lot of work/money into it, but it's very dull and forgettable. It's all a shootbang with xp points, upgrades -- general Ubi-style crap.
Exactly my thoughts, why you are being disagreed to death is beyond me. It's like people think your saying the new game is crap It's not crap, the reboot is a good game...it's just a shit Tomb Raider game and that's what it's SUPPOSED to be. If people start accepting old games turning into something there not just because at it's core "the game is good" then every old game is going to become a shadow of it's former self, instead of the devs making new IPs It was an Uncharted clone, except instead of chapters you had hubs. That game had more near death, luck based, escaped with your life experiences then Uncharted did in games 1-3. The fact tombs were a optional thing is off putting. Seriously it felt like it was a new IP at first but they made it into Tomb Raider later on. After playing the old games again recently I'm more let down with the reboot.
Always wanted to play it but have no interest in the mp. May pick it up for the campaign.
that's how I am with uncharted. I haven't tried MP yet but I'm thinking it should be better than Uncharted's MP simply because of the more precise aim controls and faster mobility.
No. The multi-player in TR is a joke. Wonderful campaign though.
Don't listen to the haters. Tomb Raider had some nice features in multiplayer. The upgrades, weapons, and maps were very nice. The controls were what made it more playable than Uncharted. The things that sucked were the modes and lack of players, but the shooting controls of TR made Uncharted play one of those cheap budget titles.
@_FantasmA_ I have to massively disagree, UC2 was possibly the best MP of that generation. It was just massively over looked because it wasnt mass market style and it was over shadowed by the sp.
Just beat it the other day with 100 percent completion. So many damn collectibles lol
2013 GOTY for me. Fantastic gameplay.
Great game indeed!
Expected this to happen after going on the PS Store recently and seeing it still at $60, with LOU being only $50 from launch. It should have never even launched at $60, let alone still have been there 'till now.
I got Tomb Raider for PS4 in March on sale from Best Buy for $39.99 and that was quite a steal. I had never played it on the 360 or PS3 so my first experience with the game was on PS4 with variable 60FPS gameplay in 1080p, well worth the wait.
Loved it. Had it on my 360 from last year's summer sale. I see why it was up there for many ppl as GOTY. IMO, a game that is only limited to one console CANNOT be given the title of GOTY. I will finally play TLOU on a hand me down ps3. I think TLOU is definitely PS' GOTY
Loved the PS3 version. Great pick up for those who yet to Tomb Raid and those who have already.
Great price ($30) for a great game! I waited myself for it to drop to $30 before buying (digitally on PSN...but it was a temporary sale price)...it's WELL worth it if you have not played it yet! The graphics on the PS4 version are flat out incredible...silky smooth frame rates (even in heavy combat) and 1080p resolution. I would say this is a must buy for those that haven't played it yet, it's definitely a game that takes full advantage of the PS4's hardware!
I beat the PS3 version so I'm gonna wait til the PS4 one hits PS Plus for free!
Amen to that
I hear you on that bro! That's how I been approaching a lot of games lately.. I have both ps+ and live so I been thinking about buying guacamelee or strider and guess what!lol I'm sure you know what games was free for the month. It will suck hugely though if at one point both systems offer the same game free but reversed! That... Would.. Suck...
An unexpected incredible game. Really great combat and exploration.
i liked this game, you really have to run through it. I didnt enjoy it because of work and i only played bits of it. I also felt like the game was too dark and needed to take place in other places except the island. Lara got her ass beat in every corner lol
Great game. If you had it last gen it's still well worth a second play through on X1 or PS4.
Not liking what they did to her face. I'll stick with my PC version.
I checked the store and it still shows $59.99. Maybe it'll update price drop next week.
I played this on PC when it came out and was surprised by how good it was. This seems like a great deal for PS4 / Xbox One owners.
