I never played The Walking Dead since release. Which season is the best?

Only 2 episodes in on 2nd season but I would start from the beginning as story carries over

To me season 1 is better but season 2 is awesome too.

I really don't get the lower scores for this one. I thought the first episode of this season was the worst of the entire series and the episode before this one was one of the best but I thought this was a fine episode. Not the best but certainly not the worst, just a decent overall entry.

For me, Amid the Ruins is the part where all the shortcuts taken throughout Season 2 really start to hit home. Thus far, Telltale’s been able to sidestep the issues of not developing their cast and seems to me to just assume that because we’ve known some of the characters a while now, that’s enough to ensure we care about them. The entire episode feels lazy like this, presenting emotional moments that the in game cast don’t care about, so why should the player? It’s also the first time that any choice you make point blank means nothing. You’re asked to make big choices, and the result is usually a throwaway line here or there before the exact same thing plays out whatever you do. I understand that it’s all in order to set up the final chapter, and the penultimate chapter of any episodic game is traditionally its lowest ebb, but I still found myself really disappointed with this episode. Hope they turn it around for the finale.
