Do you gamers believe that Destiny is game of the year material? Well here is my opinion on what I've played in the PS4 beta and I assure you that it's good.
This year there are two games releasing that are real GOTY contenders... and the first of those games is Destiny!
For sure man there is a lot of good games coming
Seems to fall short of the hype...
How long until after the release till we see articles like "Did destiny live up to its hype?" or "Destiny is a flop" or "Destiny didnt deliver." Seen it time and time again, Titanfall and Watch_Dogs being examples of the few from the many out there. This is the problem with game journalism in hyping up games to unachieveable heights, only for it too fall short for the gamers due to their pre-conception of the game being the "be all and end all" game they expect.
Grand Theft Auto 5 was mediocre and poorly designed and people ate that up. It doesn't matter how good or bad Destiny is, game of the year is decided by hype and trendy group-think.
The Last of Us won GOTY last year according to pretty much every source. I think those stupid VGX awards were about the only one who didn't give it to TLoU... and that's because they like to please the masses by giving the award to a multi-platform title.
GOTY could be the closest (and consequently most contentious) in recent years. It's all good for gamers 😁
Best chance as game of the month in September. The "huge risks" Bungie was talking about seem to be only financial. Absolutely nothing new in the game and almost everything it does Borderlands does better. Surely the hypenotize train is enough to guarantee sales and scores, but to me it is beautiful but shallow and derivative. Classes are almost the same, guns mostly change numbers instead of creative differences, the 'planets' are maps used over and over again and there's stupid design decisions all over the game. For instance: instead of a quick way to buy stuff, redeem contracts etc, you have to go through two loading screens because they think it is necessary 1 to see you ship hovering the earth and 2 a hub town. Guess what? Most people hated the gimmick. The gunplay also is subpar, specially because the aim assist is terrible and the frame rate apparently drops when you shoot. Well, you get it. I played a lot of the beta, enjoyed most of it, but to give this Borderhalo even a GotY indication is offensive. --- PS: weren't Blogspot posts forbidden?
Well P.S I got 5 approvals so I no blogpost are not forbidden but I'm telling you this is game of the year material
Hahahaha wow, you have no clue what you're talking about at all. First, Bungie is creating a living world with Destiny. Similar to what a lot of RPGMMOs do. It would be very boring and stupid to have buying equipment/completing quests from an over-layed menu. Second, it is a damn beta. It isn't meant to have a ton of content. It is more of a stress test for their severs over anything else. Also have you ever played an MMO before? The gear for the beginning levels is almost always generic with littler variety. Go and look at some of the legendary weapons for sail in the tower. They all have unique passives and are varied in looks. These aren't even the exotic weapons which will all be very creative and unique. The planets each have multiple zones in them. The beta only has one, which is Old Russia on Earth. There will also be Chicago and the City itself. Plus the Old Russia in the beta is just a slice of what it is in the full game. I could go on and on, but it isn't worth my time. I've seen a lot of stupid comments about Destiny, but yours is one of the dumbest I've seen. You are wrong about everything and have no clue what you're talking about. Take you idiotic hate somewhere else. Destiny is finally something fresh in the FPS genre that blending many different systems together quite well. It is a fact that it will be one of the bigger GoTY contenders this year.
Defensive much? Guess someone is insecure about its over promised product. ;) Won't argue with someone at your level. Ignored.
May be game of the year for ps3 and 360 but not next gen, 30fps on next gen WTF, not supprised microsofts gone with 343.
Yes, i believe Halo 5 is gonna t-bag all over this.
It is called parity. The game has been in development since before Reach launched. It would be idiotic to throw away the last-gen versions that they have been working on all these years. Since the game started on last gen, that means the engine was optimized for those systems. Thus having the next-gen engine run at 60fps while the last-gen at 30fps would cause a lot of problems during development. They want to keep all versions as close as possible to make development as smooth as possible. It has already been confirmed that Destiny 2 will be on PS4/One only and thus I'm sure they'll bump the fps up to 60 if they feel the need for it. In all honesty however 60fps is not necessary. It is nice, but the game feels great and runs fine at 30. P.S. M$ had not choice except make 343 since Bungie got tired of Halo and refused to make any more. Also they say Halo 5 will be 60fps, but we don't know what cuts they're going to do to make that happen. Wait until we see some actual gameplay before hyping it up.
Yes, like every other game released in 2014... it will be a contender for GOTY in 2014.
Could be, looks promising. The other games that could be too are Bayonetta 2, Little Big Planet 3, maybe Sunset Overdrive and Dragon Age? Suoer Smash Bros. looks awesome and promising too. Right now, i think the contenders are Dark Souls 2, Mario Kart 8, Shovel Knight and maybe Child of Light. @Artista: PS4, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, PC and Xbox 360.
What consoles do you own?
