Doom was revealed to counter fears of trouble at id Software, public reveal unlikely this year

PC Gamer "Speaking to PC Gamer about yesterday’s Doom reveal at QuakeCon, Bethesda Softworks VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines explained that the livestream cut out because Doom isn’t ready for a “formal announcement." Only QuakeCon attendees in the room were allowed to see the gameplay demonstration, and unless video of it leaks, we probably won’t see anything else about Doom until next year."

How can they counter fears about the game if they won't show it to the general public?

Muadiib1739d ago

It's pretty simple honestly, I'm shocked you haven't worked it out. They have revealed it to most of the gaming journalists and people with fansites etc, they do the fear countering for them.

Least give us some screens!

Seems rather pointless. That some saw an alpha version behind closed doors which may only slightly resemble the finished version.
