Custom color/paint your PS3

I like the colors, but I dont know if I would do it. I would probably just want to paint my tray light blue or something.

but the PS3 is, in my opinion, the most beautiful console to date. I thought nothing would have the "wow" factor of my 3DO but I was wrong. The piano black finish just seems to beg company to lay their hands on it (much to my chagrin of course as the PS3 is a finger print magnet). No thanks. Not going to ruin my warranty and what already is a great looking console.

I think it's safe to say yes you will get it back just how you sent it. Seems like they do a really good job.

I agree, who cares. Dropping that kind of cash on painting your electronics... well, it's a slippery slope my friend... then what's next? Start using words like "pwned"?, buy the star trek box set??! Dress up like a hobit???!!? No sir... Not this guy, I'd like to get laid again sometime before the apocalypse. Pay almost half what the entire system costs to see a different color every now and then when you catch a glimpse of your ps3, to that I say no thank you.

Old, and not the safest way to go. Warranty gets voided. Go for stickers, not permanent, no mess, easy to apply, easy to remove, and save your warranty :3

agreed. do a search on google for skins. loads out there.

if you want custom ones - say of like heavenly sword, asassins creed etc you will need to go on ebay or buy them direct from devs (assuming they still do them?)

personally i'd find a pic you like, fiddle around with it in photoshop and then upload it to ps3 section of www.uniqueskins.com. they will then print and send skin out for $25. you get to "design" all sides of the ps3 so if you really are keen to just change the colour (which is a tad gay!!!!) you can do it here and for cheaper.

There's a place in Las Vegas called Playstation Parlor that's where you can get your PS3 custom painted and designed by a pro.
It' some major bucks depending on what you want.
Just a standard paint job is like $100 then if you want a custom color or designs that'll cost extra.
Your better off getting a custom skin for your PS3 than you are painting it but that's just in my opinion.

The prices if you buy from them aren't horrible. I wouldn't send in though. The controller prices were actually really really good for the 360 versions.

i love my all black 20 gig.

i bought the 20 gig over the 60 gig at launch time because i didn't care about the card reader, or the extra gig's

but i loved the look of the all black over the black and chrome.

that white and orange one was pretty fu3king sweet though.

For me, it's not worth the money or the time. The PS3 already looks good.

Besides, what happens if it breaks and you have to send it in for repair? Don't they often send a different machine back?
