Xbox One sales have apparently picked up following the launch of the Kinect-free version in June.

Make no mistake, US has been SONY territory, they owned it for the life of the PS1, the owned it for the PS2 (3 to 1), it was Sony's to loose, and they did. MS sold less than 60m Xboxes in US, Sony well over 100m. And yet a 25% more expensive product is within 15% of sales.

Well, if we go by Microsoft's actions regarding Xbox One, it seems like they are not impressed with their own product at all.

The Xbox One being outsold in the U.S every month since lunch and even after the price cut and by a console with supposedly "no games" is worrying, even more when 50% of PS4 owners were not PS3 owners.

-What's going to happen when the PS4 gets a price cut?
-What's going to happen when the heavy hitters start releasing?
-What's going to happen once Project Morpheus releases?
-What's going to happen once PS Now releases?

I don't think anyone is claiming the XboxOne will outsell the PS4 when it is available in all the same regions. What you are seeing is people claiming being available in more countries won't increase sales. Xbox One is currently selling zero consoles in countries where it isn't available. Once it is released in those countries, sales are expected to increase. To what degree is yet to be seen. What we do know is it will be more than what we have seen up to now which is nothing.

Demand is not that high. Massive would be a stretch. They could have spread some of the stock around that was sitting on shelves in every country it did release in. Clearly with all the 180's they had to make, and all the buttons they evidently had to push, they were not ready to launch on the same scale Sony did.

By your numbers, wouldn't Xbox not being available in the rest of the world take away 33% of their sales? You are essentially saying Xbox would be at 7.5 million world wide if they were available.

By Xbox One being available in 30 less countries, those countries are buying zero Xbox's. Only Sony fanboys are saying Xbox fans think sales would be tied if they were available in the same amount of countries. The reality is Microsoft will sell more consoles if they are available in more regions. How many won't be known until they launch. What we do know is Sony's sales lead is partially attributed to the fact they are available in more countries world wide.

We can all agree that Microsoft will not close the gap in sold consoles worldwide when they are actually released. Microsoft will sell more consoles in those regions than they are today though. You can't dismiss that as being untrue.

I think that has more to do with the parity in technology of consoles (i.e., Nintendo), money-hatting by MS, and 3rd collaborations by all on sharing technology, resources, etc.. Not number of consoles sold.

Really, it's not as if the XBOne is not moving any games. Plus, left to any developer they are going to want their game on as many consoles as possible, and in the end it is all code. So with a game already made, the margin to put it out for that system can be too tempting not to put it out (i.e., orig. Mass Effect of PS3). It doesn't matter that much that Sony sells more.

And we haven't had a full year in to this generation. Not even a Halo and XBox is failure?! That's what I don't get the most.

People don't seem to realize that is a british article and makes no mention of sales in other territories. Regardless though, of course the kinectless x-1 will sell more because it's $100 cheaper. Not to mention that there aren't that many games that take full advantage of the kinect anyway so there really isn't much incentive to buy it...i know i'm more inclined to buy it without now that i have the option. Just wanted to add my opinion ,although I came from a ps4(sold ps4 at gamestop for 50% extra trade in credit and bought an kinectless xbox 1) I say no doubt the ps4 is more powerful.....FOR ME I enjoy the xbox 1 more, it just seems more "alive" if that makes any sense ..I also like the snap not to mention the smart glass app it helps out alot. When I had my ps4 the graphics looked good and it was fast at loading things but just wasnt inviting you just have this blue screen and everything feels bland , its like ps4 is a wife and xbox 1 is a girlfriend lol . Not to mention I play shooters and most of them gear towards xbox 1, I do plan on getting both its just the ps4 seems like a system I can hold off for because they have no (exclusive)shooters for me this year really.

Thank you Software_Lover, as he said it was for the price , and to touch on my interest on shooters , I initially bought the ps4 thinking that the shooters "planetside 2 " and "blacklight" would keep me preoccupied , I knew there would be a wait for planetside 2 but didnt think it would be this long (about to be released soon I believe) and then I'm sure if you owned a ps4 you remember blacklight being unpayable for awhile , I stopped trying after months not being able to boot it up and then once i finally got into some games it still had problems with it ..i understand though because it was a beta. So hopefully that is enough evidence of me having a ps4, if you want to check my trophies you can do that as well :)(psn is z-w34kn35s-z), I still plan on getting the ps4 again , just not a priority at the moment.

Yea, they in so much trouble they're the ones doing 180s, removing bundled in hardware, giving away games with systems, yapping about increasing hardware power through magical software updates and Sky based software. The site is referencing April data, while you are looking at more recent data, but the site is using a bit of a conflation of terms. PS4 sold 7 million consoles as of early April, X1 shipped 5 million at around the same time.

The previous stated figures had the X1 shipping 3.9 million at the end of December, and selling 3 million. MS has given no new sales data that I've seen, but officially claimed 1.1 million consoles shipped in a 3 month time period.

X1 sales are currently beating 360 (I think), but that remarkable leveling off in sales trends is telling.

Not a very good start to the article. PS4 sold 7 million as of early April, MS specifically said the X1 has "shipped" 5 million.
But what is really galling about this article is that there are NO STATS as far as sales. They quote a Microsoft marketing director talking about momentum increase, but after a dismal May showing following the Kinectless SKU announcement, anything is an increase. They also quote a standard "such beauty, much gameplay" PR release.
Pretty blatant fluff piece IMHO. I, for one, do not trust this "Trusted" Review place.

Microsoft are still counting units sold to retail instead of units sold to consumers so it stands to reason that if they release a new SKU retailers are going to stock up, the trouble is unless they release a new SKU every 6mths encouraging retails to sell the old SKU's cheap and restock the new one they're only going to be selling at a trickle.

X1 should never have had the kinect in the box. and it was a waste of millions of dollars worth of RND for MS on a product that is useless for most gamers unless you have kids.
