1UP writes: "I've gotta be straight with you -- The Incredible Hulk -- the game based on the new film -- doesn't really need to exist. It's not a bad time by any means, and will most definitely fill a weekend with some satisfyingly wanton mayhem, but the fact remains: Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, released three years ago for PS2, GameCube, and Xbox, is a better game in most every regard, backwards-compatible on all three next-gen counterparts, and available for less than a quarter of the price (as long as you don't mind ordering online). Incredible is actually a strikingly similar product -- bizarrely so, considering neither the developer nor publisher are the same -- but wears the scars of a rushed development cycle and a lack of any original ideas.
Actually, I'll give it one thing: You can level any building in its reproduced New York City sandbox to the ground. In fact, pound on almost anything in the game long enough, and you'll watch it burst into pieces, which can generally be picked up and used to beat on other things with. In this regard, the environment works -- the city feels populated, with no shortage of innocent civilians to throw into the sides of buildings, pick up and punch in the face, or bowl down the street (tossing up cars, streetlights, and whatever else lays in their wake). And that's where I had most of my fun with the game: being a jerk. Hulk is one of the biggest, most powerful jerks out there, and when he wants to cause irreparable property damage or ruin someone's afternoon with an airborne bus, that's what he damn well does."
James writes - "Last month I ventured into the debatable legacy left by the Iron Man video game, which coincided with the monumental launch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not long after, the big green angry member of the Avengers received his own video game in tandem with a blockbuster film. Now, ten years on, it’s time to look back at SEGA’s The Incredible Hulk to find out if he lived up to the ‘Incredible’ moniker!"
hulk: ultimate destruction was and is the best hulk game till this day. maybe insomniac can work on hulk after spidey? I wish
Kyle grew up playing a lot of video games. However, licensed video games, good and bad, hold a special place in his heart.
It's been too long since Ultimate Destruction gave us a magnificent excuse to cause absolute chaos with the Hulk. Why haven't we seen anything like it since? Click to find out!
All I want is a gory Marvel game. Maybe a Marvel Civil War RPG.
But blood and gore like X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
I'm the minority, but I would love a sequel to Marvel Nemesis: Rise of The Imperfects.
I thought the studio that made the hulk games closed?
I know there's others out there that can do a new one..
It would be nice... Also a new prototype would be cool too
I didn't expect this game to be brilliant, average at best shame really =(
Is one of the BEST games of last gen.
If you haven`t played it, do your self a favor....
I played Ultimate and I didn't think it was that great. Everyone I knew told me to get it and how awesome it was but I got to the second boss, maybe, and just stopped playing it from being bored with it all the time.
This game and no super hero game is ever going to evolve into anything great as long as 3rd party companies have the licences for them and they make them multiplatform.
An exclusive super hero game is what needs to happen. I don't care if it is for the ps3 or xbox 360 but it needs to be done and done right.
Meh, what do you expect? Another game based on a hit movie, they usualy suck
I thought the peeps that made Ult. Destruction would actually make a critically well recepted game based on a movie... oh well... I'll pic this up when it's sold back. Smashing thru buildings in a giant reproduction of Manhatten still sounds very cathartic.
