Hard to see how a list could omit Street Fighter 2 entirely.

Personally I would also have Virtua Fight 2, Soul Calibur, and one of the Dead or Alive games on there, maybe Marvel vs Capcom. But then I wouldn't make a "best fighting games" list because I understand how subjective that really is!

I didn't bother to read the article after seeing comments here that SF2 didn't make the list. It's out 22 years now and still played by millions everyday, I think that pretty much sums it up. It's probably one of the best games of all time, let alone just fighting games.

This list is a joke. To even suggest ANY MK is better than ANY Virtua Fighter, KoF, Guilty Gear or even Blazblue is plain stupid.

BlazBlue, Tekken Tag 2 and Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike all deserve a mention at the very least. And no a single SNK title? Lel.

Heck, MvsC 2 and SF3 kept fighting games alive during the mid 2000s when nobody seemed to care any more. Were it not for them and the extremely enthusiastic community they spawned, fighting games would be dead.
